Topic: Visa extension beyond 6 years based on Approved PERM

Sorry to hear that, but as @balaish said is the best option, go for the change of status to student work on CPT.

Do not waste your 2 months left on H1B, that will be helpful for moving back to H1B after i140 approval.

Although extensions can be done for 1 year based on approved PERM and in progress i140 but in your case that doesn't apply.

Topic: 140 Case updates PP

Things seem to be bit complicated or confusing now.

PP and Receipt Notice: Nov 22.
Online Status updated same day as the application is received for PP.

On Dec 7., Online status updated that case is received and is Processed at TSC.
Thinking that 15 days from Dec. 7 is my PP timeline, I didn't contact my Lawyer too.

Today, morning my Lawyer sent the soft copy of the approval notice they received. Notice Date is 12/04 (It was already approved on December 4th, 2017) :)

I can say online status is not providing the right information about the case, better to follow with the lawyer.

Topic: 140 Case updates PP

Seems there is a problem with USICS online case status updates.
Check with your Lawyer they might have got the email if approved.
Mine and others had the same case i140 PP filed Nov. 22 (Notice Date),
Online status shows processing on Dec 7.
Approved last week.
Hope that helps.

Topic: Wage level

Yes, I meant H1 LCA.

Refer this: https://www.usavisanow.com/h-1b-visa/h1b-visa-re...

The notice must be posted for ten (10) consecutive business days in two conspicuous locations (such as notice boards or within the vicinity of the water cooler) at the place of employment. It is usually a copy of LCA.

That's the reason companies do not write actual pay (instead range) to avoid conflict and usually file with lower wage level.

Topic: Wage level

It's not a lawyers mistake, its what most of the companies do.

they are also required to show/ Publish the LCA on common areas of/near the workplace. so that it is visible to all for some days. To avoid Salary disclosure/conflict/save money by hiring same level team members on different salaries with the same job responsibilities. companies file lower wage levels.

Texas Service Center, On Nov. 22 it was Received and got the receipt Notice for PP.

Online status current: On December 7, 2017, we received your Form I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker, Receipt Number SRCXXXXXXXXX, and mailed you a receipt notice.

So, No updates yet. It's a holiday season thinking of calling my lawyer next year/week, after all, let him enjoy his vacations too. Being human :)

Its 15 Business Days for PP. also The online tool for case status update has an issue lately, there has been no update after Dec. 7.
It's better to check with your lawyer if they have received any updates or not. My case: status was updated online but lawyer received the Approval Notice. Also, there was a maintenance on Dec. 22 on USICS website. Hope that helps.

Are you sure you want to apply for EAD on H4 after looking into the current situation?

in certain cases, it is beneficial to file concurrently but EAD is not considered for premium processing as H4 if filled with H1 under PP. Depends on your luck too, might get fast processing on EAD. :)

Topic: 140 Approved, want to join TCS

What are the pros and cons of joining TCS?
Are you working with any Indian Consultancy, offshore-based then both are same.
Will they apply for GC after 6 months of joining?
Depends on your Manager, chances are very less.
What is the max pay a Tech lead can get, will the salary be hiked yearly?
Depends on project priority and location, Yearly hike trend is 2-5%.

My personal View: would not suggest joining TCS, there are other small Indian Consultancies offshore-based which are far better in terms of packages and commitments.

15 Business Days (if an RFE is issued then another 15 days once RFE reply is received.)

If not done in 15 Days PP fee is returned and the case is still considered PP and to be completed/processed in next 15 days.

Premium processing is the best option for you now, looking at the timeline of approvals (which is around a year in normal processing ) and also you are going to apply for the extension before June 2018.

PP has nothing to do with RFE if you provide all the needed and additional documents.

Yes, the i140 form requires your SSN number to be shown:
check https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/...
Part 3 Section 12 of the form

Mine is a similar Case and used the current valid passport number as per my lawyer too.
Although my visa is stamped on the previous passport.
