Topic: I-485 - April 2017 Filers

The wait is over finally!!!
I had my interview on March 13th. It was about 30 minutes long. We both husband and wife went together. The officer allowed our 2-year-old baby with us. My baby was little cranky during the interview though. I was holding him in my arm and standing while answering questions. So, a lot of distractions. The officer was generous though. Nothing out of the ordinary. He just confirmed all the Yes/no questions. Never asked for marriage or employment docs, but wanted to see the H1/H4 document. My medical was expired, but I was ready with a new one and he asked for it. In the end, he said that everything is in order and he will run another security check on both of us and make his decision. Finally, on March 23th, we got the card production order. I actually saw that on the USCIS secret website that people were referring to (https://my.uscis.gov/). Hope this helps. I wish all of you good luck. This forum has been a great help for my mental peace for the last 353 days green card journey. Just in case, my profile has all the dates. thank you all...!

Topic: expired medical exam question

Since my medical exam is soon expiring, I need to do second medicals and take the document to the interview. In my first medical, I did IGRA test for TB and had a negative result. Do I have to do the TB test again even if I go to the same doctor this time? I appreciate your reply.

got transfer notice in the mail today. same old msg " we transfer your case to NBC to speed up .......". Online status says nothing about NBC. It says "we transfer your case to the local office....". I thought the file directly went to my local office. This information may help others who are about to think the same. Anyways, I am now in at least 2/3 months waiting game.

Topic: September 2017 transfer from TSC to NBC

Good to see that your local office is also El Paso. What a similarity! My file is also April 4th. As you have mentioned, your file was transferred to NBC in Sep and you are still waiting. But, I believe my case status is different than yours. My case was transferred directly from Texas to El Paso. No NBC in between. The status now says "Case Was Received At My Local Office." I don't know, just guessing.

in my case statuses, there were no keywords like "speed up the processing/new office has jurisdictions/initial review), which a lot of people reported that their status had. Maybe, files with these keywords will go through NBC. Mine just went directly from Texas center to local office. No NBC was involved in between. Or, the file may have traveled via NBC, which they never updated or notified me. I may have seen only the end result. Who knows? USCIS is a black hole.

Topic: Taking an Attorney to the EB AOS Interview

My attorney says they will be willing to go to the interview with me. It's part of the whole package that the applicant/employer paid for. They will also prepare me for the interview (e.g., documents preparation).

AmiShanto: Oct-31/TBD/TBD/El Paso/EB2-ROW

got case transfer status for both me and my spouse today. don't know if my application was transferred to NBC though. I guess I have to wait till I receive the hard copy notice. Just a quick question to you guys, do I get one notice for the transfer and then another one for interview schedule?

got case update today "Case Transferred To Another Office." I don't know which office though. may have to wait till i get the notice in mail. I was following 6 other cases around me. Interestingly, all got transfer statuses around the same time. It must be interview. I will be happy if I get interview date before Christmas.

Topic: Info pass experience in San Jose, CA

I went to an info pass in Boston on Oct 13th. The officer asked for my Driving license and checked the system. He then said since I don't live in Boston and my file is in SRC, he is unable to answer any question or provide me any information on my case. He suggested me to make an appoint in the jurisdiction where i live. Since I was visiting Boston around that date, I just took a chance and made the appointment. It didn't work. Out of curiosity, I also asked him if he thinks the info pass officer in my jurisdiction will be able to provide me some information. He said I don't think you will get much info. Looks like he is discouraging info pass appointment. I guess I was unlucky and met unfriendly officer. sorry for posting non-San Jose experience here.

Topic: Pre-Adjudicated - Filed after March 6th - What would happen?

yes, I checked your name. When I click it, there is no case added under your name except bunch of posting. If you haven't filed your I485 yet, then it is a different story; otherwise it was expected to see the case added for easy read. Anyways, i still am not calling you selfish. But, there are many in this forum.

If you don't want to add your case in tracker, why even bother asking too many questions. Don't only take from this forum, but also give little bit back. Hope you are not one of those selfish users.

Topic: USCIS Ombudsman Teleconference on Interview Requirements

I listen to the conference record (thanks to the person who uploaded it). I agree with you "triplesec". I am also looking for the answer of the question, "Will the I485 applications that were filed after March 6th but were already pre-adjudicated during the Aug/Sep EB-2 ROW retrogression go through the interview?"

Any expert opinions?

Does anyone have the answer to the following question?

Will USCIS interview I485 applications that were filed after March6, 2017 but pre-adjudicated during retrogression period (Aug-Sep)?

yes, Nebraska is very slow. Here is some statistics. On your received date (April 05, 2017), Nebraska got 1,101 cases (I-765). Out of these, they only approved 222 cases, which is almost 20%. You are in the remaining 80% cases. So, I think you can still wait couple of more days before be worried. By the way, the statistics are based on my case tracker.

Topic: I-485 - April 2017 Filers

I got the same status (name was updated.....) on the day my application was filed. I got my EAD almost over one and half month after that status update. some people also reported that they got EAD card in 2/3 days after that status update. This status update is weird as if you applied for name change. Who knows what this status is for. I would say just ignore it and wait for approval status. In my opinion, this status doesn't mean EAD is approved, rather mean EAD approval status may come soon.

Yes, EAD refers to I765 and AP refers to I131. I have got my combo card today, although my I131 still says "we received your case and waived the filing fee.........". I guess it's not an issue. I haven't received approval notice for I765 either. did anyone of you experience similar issue?
