I'm sure.

Sometimes i feel creating this Ac 21 in 2002 has led to more mess. It didnt reform anything.

Wish they had introduced point based in 2002 - all this mess could have been averted.

I dont think countries like Australia/Canada/New Zealand face GC backlog like US.

Point based immigration system is the best answer. US says they are superpower ( i dont buy this anymore), but they continue living with laws made in 1800's . I mean they haven't moved with times.

1) Help GC backlog
2) introduce point based immigration
3) For future H1b's say H1b quota 2019 or 2020 - no more extensions beyond 6 years

IV mentioned this is how it was prior to year 2002- anyone who came had to go back after 6 years. But their GC queues were 2 - 3 years so np for them.

But going back to removing AC 21( Future not for existing people) is not a bad thing. If US wants to curb h1b fraud or overspill of immigrants.

When people come to US with their new quota in 2020 for eg, will be aware and can plan their goals accordingly. Nobody will be in limbo then.

Excuse me????

How can they revoke it on or before Feb 2018?? read rule making process.

They have to obligatory open it for comment process which is set for feb 2018. So dont make your own interpretations.

Topic: IV Call today Dec 17th

H.R. 213 was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on January 8, 2015, and is titled the Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act of 2015. The official summary of the bill notes that it would “(1) eliminate the per country numerical limitation for employment-based immigrants, and (2) increase the per country numerical limitation for family based immigrants from seven percent to fifteen percent of the total number of family-sponsored visas.”

H.R. 213 is essentially the same bill as H.R. 3012, which was proposed and passed by the House in 2011, but failed to pass in the U.S. Senate. A more thorough summary of the 2011 bill, and thus this reintroduced bill, is available in the MurthyDotCom NewsBrief, Immigration Bill Would Eliminate Per-Country Quota in EB & Increase FB Quotas (21.Oct.2011).

The Senate bill, S. 153, was introduced on January 13, 2015, and is titled the Immigration Innovation Act of 2015 or I-Squared. A very similar version of the bill, S. 169, was previously proposed in 2013, but never made it out of committee for a vote.

Read the detailed interview with Kevin Yoder as on Oct 2017 - might give you a better picture

Whats irks me most about IV as a group is their inablity to accept any negative comments or questions challenging their thinking.

For instance when the news abt H4 ead was out, IV was first to post"I told you so" arrogant statement on their FB page. When you question them Ok, fine you told, so what do you expect people to do 1 year back? sit at home in 2016 because something will happen in 2018. No answers for that from them? They infact deleted such comments and blocked user from submitting further comments.

They only like positive answers to their efforts.

No concrete info was given regarding HR 392 - just that next 90 days make your congressman aware..blah blah.

All along the call they boasted how they intervened and how we should be at their mercy for letting us work this long.

Look - we are thankful!!! STOP mentioning it in ever comment you loose that importance.

Nah , if they can give illegal immigrants time to work until EAD expires, what makes you think they will cancel EAD's over night.

Don't read what you want to read, try to disseminate the information without being biased.

What's ironical is US themselves are made up of diverse people. Every person in US WAS an immigrant. Which obviously they dont remm or forget.

Their ancestors came in 1800's 1900's but well that doesnt count as on 2017. :)

My thoughts resonate with you.

A lot of people on this forum like to provoke and circulate stale news just to create some gossip.

A rule that took 4 years to implement cannot be cancelled in a week. Please educate yourself on this instead of going by rumours.

I am not putting those 2 in the same bracket. It was just an analogy to say we have to fight for what we want.

That's the spirit !!

In 1920's women in US didnt have voting rights, they fought hard, some people sacrificed themselves in the midst of protesting. Finally it saw light of the day.

In 2017, when you look back at that - you may think "its afterall voting rights?, how could they have not given in easily" Someday we will look back at this too and wonder .

An interesting read, if any of you would like to read this.

"The nation’s unemployment rate fell from 6.3 percent when the rule was first proposed in May 2014 down to 4.1 percent in October 2017. That’s because new people do not increase joblessness when they enter the labor force. When people start working they spend their earnings on goods and services that help create other jobs, while also encouraging new employment by investing, starting businesses and through other means. In fact, fewer workers ultimately mean less economic growth and lower standards of living, since labor force growth is an important element of economic growth."

"Any legal or economic justification for repealing the rule is likely to be weak and certain to invite additional litigation. Removing the spouses of high-skilled foreign nationals from the U.S. workforce will not improve the lives of anyone in America. "

That article is based on tweets from numerous people.

I just dont see any credibility. Owned by Steve Bannon, whom Trump removed form his administration.

I continue to say people thrive on speculation. DHS cannot make a final rule without going through comment process please understand that.

For H4 EAD to come through people fought for it NOT murthy nor any other website.

So if and when it is jeopardized, and we want it to stay then we unite again !!!

Most laws/rules/ amendments have happened in the past based of unity of human beings.

Either we bicker here on the forum and simply speculate or patiently wait until we hear what they have to say first.
