Topic: March 2017 I-485 filers

Interview was on Friday, RFE received on Tuesday. My lawyer will give them my RFEr tomorrow... hoping there is no mistake from doctor or IO this time. Lawyer said that IF everything goes well this time, I should be greened before March. But I have seen so many problems, that I am not expecting anything good at this point. Good luck !

This nightmare will never stop. I had a bad experience too. Sorry for both of us.

What I think will happen: this clueless IO will give you RFE either for Supp J, Letter of Employment, Medical, or attorney waiver. Or even something else, seeing that EB1 is not as "easy" as EB2. I don't think he will "approve", as he probably missed many things.

I have just replied to my RFE (Medical... even if my RD is MARCH. During the interview, IO BSed me about the doctor making a mistake - which was actually NOT TRUE, so the RFE just says that medical will expire so I need a new medical).

There is nothing we can do but wait. Patiently. They make mistakes, but there is nothing we can do. Be prepared for an unfair RFE due to incompetence. Our fate is not in our hands.

I received my interview notice 5 weeks later, by mail. The online status never changed after "Transfer blablabla". I got RFE during my interview for medical (status hasn't changed yet either).

My big advice: Get a new medical to your interview if you are 2 months away from RD date.

Topic: Average Processing Times

NO. With the new interview requirement, nobody can tell how long it will take. May be in a year from now we will know more about timeline. Some local offices are really messy, so timeline might depend on what your local office is.

That's what I was thinking, I am wondering if NBC actually reviews cases before sending them or if it is the local office and they give us RFE DURING the interview.

That's my nickname for this process. I do have bad luck, and I was expecting something because of that, so I am OK but fed up.

Other than that, everything wen well. My lawyer was VERY surprised to see that RFE, but there is nothing we could do (she actually read the "new" regulation from August 2016)

She kept the original and told me that the doctor probably still has all my records and needs to fill out the form again and TICK that box. She said that may be he won't make me pay because he made a mistake :O

She gave me a "notice of interview results", where the IO can tick 3 different things (I will just write the first sentence here):

- Your case if being held for review
- Your I485 interview is complete. However, your priority date is not current at this time
- Your case is being transferred

She ticked "Your case is being held for review etc." and wrote "RFE to be mailed". She said she would mail me the RFE today, but she will review my case later today and there could be more RFE (I think she did not really mean that though, to give me more RFE).

My lawyer said that she was the toughest :O

Well..

I entered the IO office with my lawyer, she made me swear with my right hand... she took a picture of me and got my fingerprints (only one finger per hand -- and she took the FU finger of my right hand - I loved it).

She asked me the YES NO questions (are you a terrorist, etc.). She read the list.

She asked me when was the last time I entered the USA.

She asked me to confirm that I had F1, J1, etc. visas before.

She asked me to confirm my address, and my full name.

She asked for the letter of employment.

That's it. Easy... but the lawyer was surprised about the RFE. I asked her if she could give me an idea of how long it will take, she said "I don't know".

Oh well... I am used to new problems. I have been struggling for the past 4 years now. Long story.

I had my interview this morning.

The immigration doctor forgot to tick a box (Gonnohrea), so the IO gave me a RFE. WHY ? The doctor included the results and everything. Just did not tick a box that, per my lawyer, the other IO don't care about !

I am planning to do all the shots/etc. again so that I don't get another RFE for TBT, etc. if they process my RFE too close to my RD (March 6).

I am so tired of all this. I drove 7 hours for that interview, stayed at the expensive hotel next door. Now, I have to do all these tests again, then drive for 3 hours to see the immigration doctor, and pay another 200 ish dollars.

Follow trackers, I hope we will all get good news without more (really unnecessary) complications.

My case was transferred on October 28, got the interview notice in the mail on December 7, the status online never changed to "case transferred". I only received the notice in mail (and my lawyer too).

You could have your interview in St Louis or Kansas City...

I have my interview this week. When I went to info pass a month ago or so, they said that they are just starting to interview people, they are still training and need to be more organized...

If you filed your I485 ON or AFTER March 6, 2017, then yes, you will be interviewed. If you filed before that cut off date, you should be fine !

Topic: Which step is more complicated ?

When I think about it, the most complicated is the fact that Potus is preparing reforms on a weekly basis, he is even able to implement them in a matter of weeks (like the mandatory interviews).

This instability worries me way more than any other forms/steps. I just want to be done ASAP because of that.

I think that all the waiting periods will take longer (ex: Nebraska's I140 regular processing takes more than 8 month nowadays, minimum).

The transfer of your I485 takes between one month to 3 months.

After the interview, the processing time (GC approval) could take a few days... to many months, even if they are supposed to send you a notice within 60 days.

I have my interview in 2 weeks... I am hopeful it will take a week to be approved, but who knows, really.

Raise SR. That's what I did. I also went to info pass appointment, just to learn that my local office is lost with this new program. They told me they were still training and were not too organized yet. I got the interview notice that same day (they did not even know that THEY had already scheduled an interview day)

I would say that each local office is different... and differently trained / organized. That's why some are delayed, and some get interview notice fast.

What is your local office ? You might have a "disorganized" "still under training" local office like mine.

Topic: Baltimore Local Office Interviews

My local office is processing November cases as per uscis processing times, and I am March RD... Also, when I went to my info pass, the IO literally said that they were still training, started the EB interview the week before, so they have no clue when people will be processed.

When I went back home, I had my appointment notice in mail. The IO did not even know about that, and thought my file was still in NBC...

My colleague, EB2 Mexico, RD mid-December (Nebraska) raised an SR 3 weeks ago, now he has RFE (probably medical). He will probably be greened beginning of January.
