Topic: Travel outside the country on AP and after filing AC21

Not sure of AC21. Apply EAD/AP before just to be safe, it takes 4 months for either to arrive. Your job status should not have a bearing on travel in and out of US. As long as AP is current.

Appointments with USCIS almost always never change. They are written in stone pretty much. Good idea but for matters of immigration I do whatever is needed.

Topic: Abu Dhabi - CBP for AP

There is an opinion that you cannot travel on new approved AP if at the the time of approval the applicant is outside the country. I have colleagues who have traveled with new AP even when they were outside the country at the time of approval. Research more threads here on that topic. There have been several discussions. Other than that my advice is take a chance on your own. Ultimately its your call if you want to them to return on new approved AP. Best option is to get advice from immigration lawyer for sure if there is still confusion.

Should be fine. I have traveled on AP the day it was expiring and one time I traveled 1 day before expiration. As long as its a future date and at least a week in advance considering any flight cancellations and delays, you should be fine.

Topic: How to apply for UK transit visa (DATV) online

My Indian coworker with AP was traveling from New Delhi to NYC on Virgin via Heathrow and was told he cannot pass through London with just an AP/EAD and needs an official GC. Please check with British Embassy and or the Airlines in this case BA on the pass through rules for AP and EAD holders via London. Rest of your case, I am not able to provide any insight as I am clueless myself. In any case, enjoy the trip.

Based on limited knowledge of your case I am unable to give any pointers. Please seek professional help. Lawyers and immigration experts like Murthy if you are serious in getting this fixed. Good luck!

Topic: How to deal with Retrogression....

Well said. Done correctly, keeping your interests in mind you can have it all by marrying an Indian girl in US for GC. Believe me. It depends on how strong willed you are. Let say push comes to shove, she divorces you or you divorce her. First off no one will revoke your GC unless you do something terrible to her like beat the crap out of her or get involved in criminal activity or she to you. Grown ups deal with divorces in a mature way. Just finagle yourself out of it smartly. No hard feelings. It didn't work out so walk off and tell her you don't want the rest of life to be miserable and you can be great friends. Former spouses make great friends since you know each others weaknesses and strengths. Besides its not GC love, its real love. Fall in real love and GC is your by product. In a lifetime men marry several times and love several women, in every culture. There is absolutely no denying. We are living in changed times. Marriages last few days these days for the weirdest reasons. My cousin broker off her engagement because her fiancé didn't have a sense of humour like hers. He was sarcastic. So everything is relative. Its nothing wrong. I am not advocating marry and dump for GC. But looking at it from a more realistic perspective helps. Now on the other hand, if your GC generator is smart, rich and sexy, never leave. Haha.

Thanks Natan. So is the 140 petition enough or approval is necessary for the risk to be minimal.

Topic: Off Topic: Issue with OCI application for minor child

From the information above it looks like CKGS wants consistency in fathers name. Just get a notarised document from a notary in US likely at a UPS store for $2 and submit, the submitted document should be a copy of the fathers name as its in passport if thats what you want and duly notarised. If they don't accept this, then alternatively call and ask them the question you have posted here. What do they want. It could be that they want something from India. CKGS is a really useless organisation, they don't understand English, speak in Hindi or any other regional language when you speak to them.

Looks like you are all set anna. I just finished booking my tickets also. Will be cruising at 43,000 feet in an A380 double deck wide body jet @ an average speed of 600 Miles an hour along with 300 fellow humankind, until touchdown. While in the air the plan is to sip some top notch German riesling to go with warm Chicken Tikka Masala while watching the latest bollywood flick likely Sallu's and taking a break from it all to check out some eye tonic in other seats along the way.

If anything we are all confused guys. While everyones word here 's appreciated, these things are not clear to anyone I think. The more people and lawyers you ask more answers we get of various flavours. However I strongly think debate should continue, thats what keeps our hopes alive. Anyhow, I got my AP Approval July 20 TSC. Adios amigos until next time. Keep dreams alive and keep moving forward.

Topic: I-485 interview dress code

There is nothing called overdressing. Your thinking is so 3rd world. Now you are in USA. Behave like it. Whatever you wear is your call. Dhoti, Suit or Chaddi. If the officer is not wearing does not mean you cannot. Moreover this is a 485 interview, trying pants and hoping it will be fine is a bad strategy. Instead one goes with the best they have. That is why people like you come here and never make progress man.

A suit is an armour. Its a dress code that powerful and confident wear. It shows that you put thought into your appearance and are really serious about your goals and objectives i.e. of getting all the needed immigration approvals. Well worn suits are like magnets, it draws people in. Ever seen Godfather? He is a thug but always wears a suit.
If you wear a shirt and pant, it looks weak. Once you look weak your case is thrown down the toilet. With a good suit the immigration officer can make an assumption this man will not hesitate to hire lawyers. Its purely psychological. Think of it as going to a battle. Do you go with proper battle gear i.e suit or you go weakly. Your call.

Always call to get latest information.NSC is very slow.Based on the information you have provided it seems like it will be end of July at the earliest and farthest could be end of August due to finger printing. These are just estimates. Good luck.

Lol, really jokes aside, do not wear a dhoti. You are not going to a film festival or a birthday dinner party. Ironed and dry cleaned suit with a tie and shoes with moderate shine will do it. Its probably the most important interview you will ever attend in your life. Its your time to shine, so go in with a good attitude and you will be successful.

Just passports should suffice. I have never carried anything other than passports and AP. If you feel the need and prefer carrying those documents, you should take them. Its how confident you are. I have traveled the globe and very confident so I carry very little paperwork, but then I also speak 5 languages. May not apply to your situation. So take the documents if you feel confident. If not it wont be an issue.

Like i said I don't know the details of your case. I cannot tell you what will be asked. The questions they ask is generally based on your application that is unique to everyone. Like where do you work now, how many years you lived in US, what is your profession etc. These are just examples, everyones case is unique and so are their answers. Its hard to tell what will be asked. Just be very well prepared with all details of your specific case. Obviously they wont ask what is the theory of relativity ;)
