Topic: Newark, NJ Field Office Interview Status

Hi All:

I had my interview recently. The interview was pretty straightforward. People are courteous and nice.
Application type: Concurrent, Late May 2017, EB-1B, (India!!!!!!!!!!)
Retrogression: 2017 June, 2018 April....
Transfer: January 2018
Courtesy notice for missing medicals: Feb 2018
Interview notice: March 2018
Interview in brief:
Oath, photo and fingerprint, waiver
asked for medicals, passport, original birth-certificate, employment history (quick just names), few questions on 485.That is it.
Then was told that due to visa retrogression for Indian EB-1, decision cannot be taken now.
All looks good with the case.
That's it.

So now, I will have to wait till India becomes current again (whenever that happens. At this point I am just done!).

Unfortunately, I will have to apply EAD and AP again in early summer to be on safer side as my EAD/AP will get expired in late fall. :(

Never ending process. Anyway, good luck to everyone!

Topic: Vaccination Required & Gonorrhea Screening Results

Question 1: ) Do I need to get all of them done ?
(I think we are given these vaccines in India when we are kids. You can request the doctor to verify by getting blood titers done. I did not have record so that is what he did)

Question 2: ) The Doctors office recommends - For some Vaccines & Immunizations we need to do them in series ( Need to get multiple shot injection ) - Need to go doctors office multiple times ?
(If you already have antibodies (vaccines given previously)-then you are all set

Question 3: ) Does it cost $ 1000/Each (For me the total cost was about $ 500 (New York))

Question 4: ) Can I get the Vaccines & Immunizations from my primary care and get it done from regular doctor as it would be covered under my health insurance ? Maybe. No idea tbh.

Question 5: ) Apart from the above Vaccines & Immunizations - Do I need anything else done / Any additional requirements ?
Just do whatever is asked on the form. Make sure you use the recent version of the form.
Also, I will strongly suggest to do medicals only if RFE has been issued and/or interview is scheduled.
It is taking horrible longer for processing of I-485, you do not want to pay again and again.
Also, get blood titres done irrespective that ways, you will atleast know if you need vaccinations.

A titer test is a measure of antibodies in the blood, providing a check of disease immunity. The results of a titer test then allow a clinician to determine whether a vaccination is required. A titer test involves a simple blood draw. The sample is analyzed, and results are returned within 24 to 72 hours

All the best

Topic: EB-1 India becoming current again? Any predicitions

Thank you. Hope so.
Any chances of it becoming current again sooner?
I sometimes think it may be an error. How can it be the same final action date as it was in June 2017?
How come my friends who have filed around that time in EB-1 (PD of 2017), already got their greencards?

Only USCIS knows how they work!!

I am suffering second retrogression! Damn and was so close. Final interview scheduled in first week of April.

Any chances that EB-1 India will become current sooner (October or earlier)?

Thanks.

EB-1B industry.
Damn! I think they should separate EB-1 A and B from EB-1C altogether and giving eb-1 a and b highest priority.
The standards are very different and I am sure my EB-1A&B fellow friends can relate to what I am saying.
Not against any category.
But this is unncessary adding wait time for researchers and scientists in industry/academia.

What a bad luck. Second retrogression for me.

I have interview scheduled for April first week in New York field office.
What happens now?
So by October, would they again start issuing RFE for fingerprinting, this and that and get stuck forever in this cycle of documents getting expired and retrogression.

I am so so frustrated with this visa retrogression.
