I think your lawyer is just too lazy to do that for you! Raising SR has nothing to do with RFE! If you are a qualified candidate and meet the NIW requirements, your petition will be approved regardless of whether or not you have raised SR.

Is this for I-485? I don't think it has to be sealed, unless it is specifically mentioned on the envelop of the transcript that it is not valid if the seal is opened. Only in this case I would send them the sealed one.

That's weird, you shouldn't need a job offer for NIW! Is V. Chen your lawyer?

Topic: Employment based interviews - Detroit Office

Hi everyone,
I recently received my I-140 approval and was reading the posts here since my local office is also Detroit. Very useful information and thank you all for sharing your interview experiences.
I filed concurrently, and based on what I have seen from folks here, it usually takes about a month for the case to be transferred to NBC and another 2-3 months to receive the interview notice. Since my medicals expire in late May, do uou guys think it’s a good idea to retake the medical exams before? Until when should the medicals be valid?
Thanks!

I see that your case was transferred to NBC about a month after your I-140 was approved. Is it typically the same for NIWs at NSC? I assume that the interview scheduling really depends on the field office but transfer to NBC depends on Nebraska’s workload, right?

Can I ask where your field office for the interview is?

You'll most probably hear a status update in one month.

I see. If that’s the case, I think you’ll be fine.

You should be fine as long as your field of endeavor has not changed; but you need to provide enough evidence for that. What was the RFE saying? Just curious...

Congrats! Seems like they’re gradually phasing out the old online status check and no longer update the caees there. It makes sense since it may prevent case trackers from putting a high load on their servers.

Thank you! Did you file I-140/I-1485 concurrently? Have you received your combo card?

Hi everyone! I have a question from those who have had their I-140 approved recently: How long does it usually take to receive the interview appointment letter after the I-140 is approved? A rough idea about the timeline would be appreciated! Thanks!

I asked the same question from my lawyer and she said although she’d had Iranian clients traveling with AP, she wouldn’t recommend it since they can always deny your entry. I have also had Iranian friends who traveled outside US with AP without any problem, but I personally wouldn’t take the risk unless it’s something very urgent.

Hover your mouse to "My Account" on the top right corner of your USCIS account page and click on "Account Settings". From there you can switch off the "Case inactivity notifications".

Finally got the approval yesterday (PD: June 8, 2017)! The USCIS case tracker (https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do) still shows that the case is received, but the case status in myUSCIS account (https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/) shows that it is approved.

Credentials:
Master's & PhD candidate in top 10 US school, 11 papers, 80+ citations, some posters and conference presentations, 4 years government funding, some graduate level awards and fellowships, 6 letters (5 independent).

Good luck to everyone!

I would reduce the number of dependent recommendation letters. Sometimes IO might not have time to go over all your letters; so you better choose them wisely so that if (s)he reads only a few of them, that would be sufficient. There's a chance that the officer reads only 3 letters randomly and all of them happen to be dependent letter. It's better to submit 4 letter with 3 independent than say 6-7 letter with only 3 independent. Your lawyer should have paid attention to this.
