"People, don't make a fool of yourself trying to know the staffer at a "personal level". Get your thoughts down in writing and make an impact."

Noone is going to read your letter.. How many responses have the hundreds of online petitions received? Your letters will go straight to the trash can. You are the ones making a fool of yourselves, as you are doing exactly the same things others have done before and failed spectacularly. But go ahead, as fools will never learn from previous mistakes.

More blah..blah.blah...

I know people like you will just do nothing, so PROVE me wrong by doing something.

I challenge you, get the letter and data charts ready in 2 weeks that folks can send to senators and congressmen..

Let's see if you are only talk (blah..blah..blah) or some action. We will see what you have accomplished after 2 weeks. Peace out.

I'm done responding to you.

What's stopping you from completing your PowerPoint and sending it out? Why are you doing nothing, while just cribbing about what others are doing?

Documenting is very good, that mode of our each can take its own path. However calling them directly also works, to get the message across. BTW, we are highly skilled immigrants, not non immigrants and therefore they will listen. We need to work together with our multiple ideas to move this thing forward. More ideas are always welcome.

Your information is not correct. Staffers are paid to take down messages and forward them to Congressmen. I've got to know some of the staff on a personal level and they have started recognizing me due to multiple calls I've made. Some have also given me answers and next course of action from the Congress representatives Office, based on my previous phone calls.

I spoke to the staff in their office who assured me they would forward my message to the Congress representative.

Very good initiative guys regarding the PowerPoint. I also agree we should involve the Telegu community. The more folks we can get involved, the stronger our voice will be heard.

Next we have to put pressure on Congress representatives to get this bill to the floor for a vote. Call their offices, involve friends and colleagues into this effort. Believe me, they get the message when a lot of people call regarding one bill.

The number of cosponsors has nothing to do with IV group. It's the result of the Congressman's staff reaching out to colleagues.

I spoke to about 5-6 congressmen's staff. Some were cosponsors of this bill and recognized that they are supporting this bill. Planning to call more congress reps on the India caucus.

Does anyone have any ideas on how Indian embassy can be involved as Modi is coming for US visit and will be meeting congressmen and senators?

If you think this is BS, why are you here? No one cares about what IV or other organizations say.

Having a large number of cosponsors is a good thing as cosponsorship is an automatic "yes" vote. Therefore if number of cosponsors is 218 or more, the bill is an "automatic" pass if a vote is called.

The vote may or may not be called depending on party in white house, number of people pusging congressmen for vote on bill, politics etc.

Good Job!

Let's contact as many congressmen to get our voices heard and have an impact. I've also contacted the Indian Physicians Association in the United States as they are an organization supporting HR 392.

He will not jump ship because his educational qualifications are not competitive. He will not get hired by an American company, as his English is not good. After getting the greencard his salary will be given a small bump by Cognizant. He will continue to work for them. It works for the employee as he gets the GC and for Cognizant who get a permanent resident/citizen to work for them at below market rates as a captive employee. The more folks they get like this on GC/Citizenship, the less they have to depend on H1b's due to US Government crackdown.

If an established company like Cognizant or TCS is claiming that an analyst who is an individual performer with zero direct reports has 50 direct reports and providing false paperwork for this so that this person can get an EB1C greencard, they can keep getting away with it. In my opinion, there is no way any of us can stop this fraud on such a wide scale that is happening. We can shout about it and crib about it but nothing is going to change.

My neighbor who works as an individual performer and analyst left for Canada a few weeks back. Cognizant is going to bring him back after 1 year on EB1C even though he is not a manager and has no direct reports. There are thousands of such cases going on, how many of these fraudsters are you going to stop?

Great work Whatthefuss!

Let's work together to move things forward and hope things happen. We can't stop trying at this point and let's each work our level best and try to involve friends and colleagues.

OK guys, here's what I've done:
1. Contacted my Congress representatives Office by phone asking them to follow up with Congressman Chaffetz's office as my congress representative also one of cosponsors of the bill.
2. Contacted immigration voice and left them a phone message detailing situational asking for help from their contacts/activists. This organization had met Congressman Chaffetz earlier regarding this bill.
3. Plan to call other congress representatives today.
