Pending 485 cases need to apply for EAD/AP renewal before it expires. There is no application fee that needs to be filed. As long as you get a reciept notice before EAD expires, it is automatically extended for 180 days. Please check the link below:

Topic: March 2017 I-485 filers

My RD is 03/07/2017
Case was transferred to NBC on 10/26/2017
Received RFE to submit Supplement J on 11/19/2017
Submitted RFE Response with Supplement J, letter from new employer, paystubs, 485 Notice copy on 12/21/2017
The Response was received on 12/23/2017 (as per USPS tracking)
No update since then. My EAD/AP expires on 04/10/2018. I am preparing documentation to apply for EAD/AP renewal. Anyone else in a similar situation?

Topic: Days since your RFER

Hi

Did you get an update for approval of Supplement J as an update on your case status. I submitted response to RFE on Dec 22nd and haven't heard back. Status still says Case has been transferred to another jurisdiction.

Topic: Supplement J request for pending I-485 [EB1B applicant]

Hi All,

I am responding to the RFE (Supplement J) I received on my I-485 application. I am submitting the following-

1. Supplement J
2. Copy of RFE letter
3. Copy of approved I-140 notice
4. Copy of I-485 Receipt notice
5. Copy of offer letter from my current employer
6. Letter from the employer with details of my job
7. Pay stubs for last three months

Is there anything else I need to submit. Should my application be accompanied with a cover letter?

Please let me know.

Hi. I intended to submit info to USCIS but my lawyer told me to only send it if asked by the USCIS.

Topic: Supplement J request for pending I-485 [EB1B applicant]

Hi Forum members,

I am an EB1B applicant. I filed for adjustment of status in March 2017. I received a job offer and started a new job in September 2017 (>180 days after my 485 receipt date). As my lawyer suggested, I didn't inform USCIS about the job change.

Now I received the request from USCIS to submit Supplement J after my case was transferred to NBC. I was wondering if people had similar experiences and could guide me how to proceed.

I do understand that I would need to include the job offer letter with details of my new job in the packet to be sent to USCIS along with the filled Supplement J. Also where to find the Standard Occupational Classification code. I am a Research Scientist in a biotech company.

I feel like our cases got transferred to TSC to share the application load at NSC. I don't think this is necessarily interview updates. What do ppl think?

Topic: March 2017 I-485 filers

Hi

I received the following message from USCIS this morning? Has anyone else received similar notice? If so, what is the next course of action?

Your Case Status: Initial Review

On October 25, 2017, we transferred your Form I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS, Receipt Number LINxxxxxxxxxx, to another office for processing and sent you a transfer notice. The notice explains why we transferred your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you do not receive your notice by November 24, 2017, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request a copy of the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

During this step, USCIS initiates the background checks of the applicant/petitioner and identifies issues that may need to be addressed either during an interview or by asking the applicant/petitioner to submit additional information or documentation. USCIS reviews the applicant's/petitioner's criminal history, determines if there are national security concerns that need to be addressed, and reviews the application/petition for fraud indicators. If you have filed an I-485, I-589, I-751, N-400, I-90, I-821, I-131 or I-765, you can expect to receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints and/or photographs taken. The timing of your appointment is determined by the number of applicants ahead of you that also need a biometric appointment. We try to schedule biometric appointments as quickly as possible and in most cases you will receive your appointment notice within 30 days of submitting your application. We will send your appointment notice approximately 14 days ahead of your scheduled appointment. It is important that you keep this appointment. If absolutely necessary, you can request that your appointment be rescheduled however, please be aware that rescheduling may delay the processing of your application. Please follow the instructions on your appointment notice if you need to reschedule. Occasionally, you may receive an appointment notice to appear at an Application Support Center to have your fingerprints taken when you have filed a form other than those listed above. In these situations, you may receive your appointment notice more than 30 days after submitting your application or petition.

Wondering if anyone here has any idea for the timeline for green card after biometrics are done. I see that Nebraska is very slow in processing final green cards. Anyone here has any info on this?

You can call USCIS and ask them to send another Fingerprinting notice. I didn't receive one and called them to send me another one. As per USCIS, the FP notice should arrive within 30 days of RD.

I did a walk in at the ASC for fingerprinting today. Everything went smoothly. I told every officer who looked at my notice that my FP notice was lost in mail and this is the second notice I received. No questions asked.

My fingerprint notice was lost in the mail. They sent another one. Thats the reason I want to go ahead with the walk in.

I would call in USCIS customer service and ask them to request the FP notice to be sent again. I also had the same issue as my wife received the FP notice but I didn't. It is expecte to arrive within 1 month from the 485 RD. Thats what I was told by the Customer care representative.
