Topic: I485 approved while abroad

The officer will not give the 551 stamp, in my case he stamped my passport with the Paroled entry. You can only get the 551 stamp at the consulate or at any of the USCIS office.

Topic: I485 approved while abroad

I have faced this situation couple of months back and I was able to enter with my AP. I showed my 485 approval notice and there were no questions asked. The only issue was, I had to wait for almost an hour at the secondary inspection as there were a lot of people ahead of me. As you don't have the physical card you will have to enter using AP. In case you have someone who can mail the card to your home country you can enter using that but I would not recommend as there is a probability of losing the card in transit.

I never got a USPS tracking number, just the card production ordered and got the card in the mailbox a week later.

Thanks for your response. Was surprised to know that the officers don't access or review the current applicant status before taking any action.

Topic: EAD approved after 485 approval

Me and my spouse got our 485 approved on 30th March and we have received our welcome letter and green cards too. Meanwhile, on the 1st week of March we had also applied for our EAD/AP renewal as it was about to expire and we were not sure if we will receive our 485 approval. A day after our 485 approval, I received a notification that my spouse's EAD/AP has been approved and card production has been ordered. Also, I received a notification of shipment of the EAD/AP card. My EAD/AP application still shows as received and I was expecting that as our GCs are approved both our EAD/AP application should be denied. But it was approved for my spouse so I am bit confused and worried. Experts please share your views.

Topic: 485 Approved today and travelling tomorrow

Thanks, everyone. I checked with my lawyer and he suggested to get a stamp if possible but as I don't have time to get it done I should be good to enter in AP, the only inconvenience will be waiting in the AP line which takes more time than the GC line.

Topic: 485 Approved today and travelling tomorrow

In the case of folks who travel and the 485 gets approved when they are out of the country they use EAD/AP to enter so it should be valid. The only difference in my case is that it got approved when I am inside the country.

Topic: 485 Approved today and travelling tomorrow

I got my 485 card production status changed today and I am traveling out of the country tomorrow and I have a valid EAD/AP until June 2017. Should I enter back on EAD/AP or should I ask someone to ship the cards to me? I don't want to be in a situation where the cards get lost in transit. Please let me know if you have any idea on this situation.

Topic: EAD filing fee required?

One of my friends who also got the EAD during the 2007 fiasco sent their EAD application last month without the fees and it was rejected. So I think they are still expecting the fees to be paid for those cases but I am not 100% sure.

It means they have received your RFE response and it is in review process which can last from a week to 60 plus days.

Topic: 221G AP and delay in background check for I485

I think medicals are valid for 1 year from the date the doctor signs on the medical records. If that is not the case then someone can get the medicals done 6 or 8 months in advance and submit it later but when the officer picks it up say after a year it would be more than a year old.

As per the trend if you are current and your RFE is usually for medicals you usually get approved within a month after the response. In some cases, I have seen it getting approved within 10 days too. So hang tight.
