lets reverse the situation and assume that India has become a superpower and 1 INR = 60 USD do you feel that Amrus would come to work in India and wait in backlog for 15 yrs ..... I dont think so .....

"wait in backlog for 15 yrs"

India becoming super power and 1 INR = 60 USD, optimistic but say it happens...but still ...What backlog?
With the population of India ...they would not be able to afford more permanent residents LOL

This is a hypothetical situation ..... most likely will never happen in the ner future .... but assuming it happens next week ... do you feel Amrus will migrate in hordes to India as 1 INR = 60 USD ....

Absolute exchange rates mean nothing. 1 rupee = 1.72 japanese yen. Does that mean India is richer than Japan? Lol.

I am 30 if that helps. How is the RAISE act going to affect specifically me and not you?? I don't understand your logic/rationale here?

Why would I not get a B1/B2 visa? What makes you say that? Again, what rationale/justification? I want to reiterate that my organization is 100% American and very significant in the tech sector; with a vast Canadian presense.

I need a good opinion; not an off the cuff remark.

wow you got real sensitive. When did I claim that age affects you and not me? I had no idea how old you were before you answered. If you were 45, you would obviously have no chance of US GC under RAISE act.

I gave you the rationale. For your benefit, I will repeat it.

1. B1/B2 is a non immigrant visa. You must prove strong ties to your home country and no intention to immigrate.

2. You declared an immigration to immigrate when you got an i140 which is for Green Card (immigration process) and you intend to continue working for the same company which sponsored you. Huge red flag for denial.

3. I am assuming you have lived in US at least for a few years. So you dont have strong ties to either India or Canada. Another huge red flag for denial.

4. You are employed by a US company. This is another huge red flag for B1/B2 as VO might suspect they are trying to get you to work for them without labor checks, etc.

Google the many cases of people who took up Canadian PR and tried to apply for B1/B2 visa from Canada. Very few got it within 1 year of staying in Canada. And most of them did not continue working for the company which sponsored i140.

Got it now?

Topic: UB H1B or Canada PR

Hi,

I have an Invitation to Apply in the Federal Skilled Worker category. I currently reside in the US on a H1b visa (Indian citizen). I have an approved I-140 under EB-2 category (PD: Nov 2015). Given the situation in US, it might take anywhere between 15-20 years (conservatively) to get a green card in the US.

I work for a leading American technology company as a Cyber Security/Risk Mgmt Consultant and my group/manager has agreed to place me in Canada if I wanted to (given that I can keep traveling to US clients without any issue). Being a traveling consultant it has become extremely difficult these days to travel to client locations as we have to file for a new LCA/H1b amend every time we need to go to a new client and also takes time.

Given all this, unless I want to move to a new employer sometime in the future, being in Canada seems like a wise choice overall. Having said that, I understand that US economy is a lot bigger with a lot more jobs (consulting or otherwise).

Any help/suggestions in making a decision is much appreciated. Thanks!

How old are you? If the RAISE act becomes law, you may NEVER get the GC.

Also, I dont think moving with this company is a good idea. You will almost for sure not get the B1/B2 visa that you will need to visit US clients. You have a GC pending and you will have very little ties to Canada, you are likely to be denied the visa.

you are right about no country limit. But as it stands, ur interpretation is wrong. Of course it MAY change. But your 50% interpretation was wrong and wishful thinking.

This is the decline of US now. Seriously! If this bill comes then all we will see is just the average worker bees. At least right now EB1A and B makes sure that there is some talent comes to US. Rest of us arent really really highly skilled.

It would be sad to see such a great country getting brain drained.

eh, not really. 140k people make little difference to 330 million. Lets not exaggerate our own importance. US will be fine with or without us.

The only reason Trump hasnt brought immigration down to 0 is because then he would have nothing to talk about. Same reason why Dems didnot go for immigration overhaul in 2009, to keep it alive as an election issue.

The bill clearly says that only 50% of 140k will go thru point based sustem .The remaining 70k will still go thru employer sponsored I-140 with out limits to country quota. Please stop spreading rumours.

Wrong wrong wrong. Start practising for IELTS reading section, lol.

The 50% merely means that in a given year, not more than 70,000 GCs will be given in first 6 months out of total 140,000. Nothing to do with old system! Its just a mandate to pace the grant of GCs.

Old system will be gone under this system. And no mention of country limits means no country limits. But that doesnt help the Indians in backlog now, they will all be out ranked by younger Indians with MBAs.

it wont. It doesnt make any difference in AUS, CAN.

And most desis in US are now royally screwed. This is what Trump favors. Dems will be happy if lottery is retained. Then this will be implemented in 5 years.

In 5 years, we all will keep waiting in EB line and lose points as we age. In the meantime, we will see a flood of MBA students come in from India and other countries and when the law comes into effect, we will never get the GC.

0.

Just look at Canada immigration stats. Even under the objective points based system, most immigrants are Indians, Pilipinos and Chinese. When Americans realize that this is letting more brown people in, they will bring back the quotas.

Topic: In GC queue: What is your Net Worth?

Lol. Firstly you started this kid business by saying what will
60 year old do without kids. Now that you got reply, you are getting
frustrated. Just because you caved in to society and are now suffering
doesnt mean others should do the same. Dont be jealous of child free
couples traveling the world or partying while you drop your best (and only?)
friend for soccer practice. Keep it to yourself.

Topic: In GC queue: What is your Net Worth?

not useless if you can understand what it means. Net worth is net worth, it is an absolute term. no number of kids change your net worth.

anyone who says having kid is an hassle and drain on your finance should not have a kid - they probably cannot do justice in raising them properly. having a kid gives your life a meaning and substance. it gives you a purpose! My 4 year old is quickly becoming my best buddy! No amount of money can replace the joy that I get by spending time with him. I look forward to the day when he turns 18 and we go for a beer together sitting on a fishing trip somewhere in the mountain. what would a kidless guy would do at 45, 55, 65 I wonder, other than counting money in the bank :)??

lol if you think your US born or raised kid will do all this with you when you are 60. Do you do this with your dad? I dont, and most people I know dont. But they are all still happy, spending time with their cousins and their age friends.

Have kids if you want to play with them when they are 5. Dont expect any companionship or nursing when you are old.

meh, most of these 'crackdowns' are merely improving the quality of foreign workers, not closing completely. I am all for that as long as current visa holders are grandfathered.

Who told you that? :)
have a look at the Canadian points based system for Skilled workers... people with higher experience get more points

wrong. Beyond 6 years, your points dont increase in Canada. But for every year of age after 30, you lose 5 points.

Topic: Solution for Indian immigrants waiting to be accepted

The solution to this problem is to invite the Britishers back and have them control us for the next 50 years and make india great again :)

by any metric, human development in India has IMPROVED after the British left. This includes total fertility rate. If there was no british rule, India would be 700-800 million and reducing in population right now.

People also need to calm down. India has reached 2.3 or below in TFR. Only 2.1 is needed for stable population. India will fall to 1.7 like China in 2 decades. No laws needed.

Also, there are plenty of poor countries with low population. Population control alone is not the solution to anything.

I write algorithm for Broadcom chips which handles million packets per second for data center. Mostly these data center products goes to NYSE etc as they are time sensitive. I have 10 journal papers and 5 patents (Granted). Let me know if you ever come to Broadcom I will show you around.

very good buddy. Let me give you an analogy. I have 0 skills when it comes to Plumbing and Air conditioning. Same with my colleagues. We could not do our job if our building did not have these facilities. The plumbers probably think we dont deserve our pay because we just sit all day and enjoy free snacks, etc. But the jobs of the future are not plumbing and electricity.

You are a very good plumber/electrician (not good enough for EB1 apparently), good for you. I am sure what you do is very complex. But people who get GCs and high salary, work-life balance just need SQL or MS Power Point. You might think its unfair, but thats the reality.

your argument that there is no alternative to 9-5 coding also does not make sense. You think you are the centre of the universe, you are not.
