Topic: PERM Progress predictions

Based on the document issued by DOL (http://www.foreignlaborcert.doleta.gov/pdf/Perm...), 26% of the total active perm cases of 53,200 are stuck in audit - that is about 14,000 cases. As of 12/31/2008

Lets assume that that is equal to 6 months of audits (since a majority of audits happened in 2007, - august through december accounts for 5 months and number of audits in 2008 would be equal to one month worth of audits in 2007) - you are looking at about 2350 audits a month that are yet to be cleared.

The same document shows that DOL approved only about 3,074 cases in the entire quarter. let us assume that the month of december and thanksgiving resulted in only about 2 months of work instead of three.. hence from january onwards we can expect DOL to approve approximately 4500 cases per quarter which is 1500 cases a month.

Assuming 25 percent of the cases approved are the 2007 audit cases - you are looking at roughly 400 audit cases approved every month.

Based on this
September 2007 - March through June
October 2007 - July through October 2009
November 2007 - October 2009 through January 20010 (due to holiday season we can exclude December 2009)
December 2007 - February 20010 through May 2010
Remaing 2008 audit cases - May 2010 through August 2010

I know this has a number of assumptions but seems reasonable to me. what say you?
