You've criticized the hell out of this bill and you don't know that the quota is based on Place of Birth??

LOL!!!!!

Chill out guys... I guess everyone who is here has the same goal - trying to get this bill passed

Until someone has a better approach to getting this bill passed, I don't see anything wrong in trying to get as many co-sponsors as possible.

If at all it comes up for voting, we are at least sure to get those votes....

Just my 2 cents.

If your cause is so noble as to end racism, you should not have any problems in passing this bill to law. I am just worried how others will view it. End numerical limits... sounds difficult to me.

How on earth does this end numerical limits........ if anything, it ends discrimination.

Topic: Law Suit against porting : advice required.

What you just put is like saying, oh I was eligible for EB2 in my first year of H1, but my employer filed my GC after 2 yrs, so my priority date should be 2 yrs earlier......

Applying in EB2 or EB3 is based on the job requirement, not on one's eligibility....

Topic: Per country cap removal.

Once country cap is removed, EB3 is going to have its own quota (of 34K) once all higher EB priorities are Current.
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________-

My dear friend...You don't seem to understand how the removal of country limits would work....

Each category EB1 to EB3 would have its own quota of 34K from day 1 of removal of 7% quota, and these would be assigned on FIFO based on PD for each category accordingly, not the way you put it....

EB3 will not have to wait for EB1/2 to be current for it to move......

Topic: Per country cap removal.

I'm not sure what you mean by "Do you think 100,000 people will go in line all at the same time? "....

FIFO will obviously be based on PD..... there is no question on that...

and your point 7: EB3 India will continue to move in its current pace until EB2 India is Current. is completely wrong... EB3 will have its own quota of 34K or whatever the number is....

Your analysis is flawed.....how naive can you be to say FIFO is in play....

Topic: I-140 EAD approved by OMB

So what I mean is, in addition to retention of priority date, this rule also clarifies how to establish a priority date for immigrant petitions that do not require labor certifications.

If you look at the next provision in the table, Priority Date Retention, this is where one would fall if one already has a priority date established...

This is how I understand it.... what do you think?

In my opinion what this means is: this rule provides more clarification as to how a priority date is determined for EB immigrant visa petitions that do not require labor certifications.

Meaning clarifying how to determine a priority date for say EB1 applications (does not require labor certifications).

Correct me if I am wrong......

Its all politics my friend.... unfortunately many have to suffer the consequences....
But I agree, unity would make a lot of difference... but I guess that does not happen in our community

Cannot agree more..... if she wins, forget about any changes, we will have to live with the backlog, and its looking really bad for dates 2012 onwards....

True...

If Hillary wins, nothing will change for legal immigrants, the bills she will put to vote will most likely not pass whereas
if Trump wins, there will most likely be changes, could be positive or negative. He had earlier said that those with MS from US universities need to be retained here....this can help people with MS....

And the more he campaigns against HR213, the more our views become stronger that No quota (First Come First Serve) is the most fair system....
