Case Received: 22-FEB-2016
Upgraded to Premium : 14-OCT-2016
Approved : 24-OCT-2016

Seems it is of no use waiting for approval in the regular mode if you are past 180 days.

H1B Extension Received Date: 02/22/2016

Upgraded to premium today(10/13/2016) as there was no progress. Also, 240 days since I94 expiry period gets over in December 2nd week. Waiting for the update from USCIS now.

Thanks for your reply. My 240 days reach by December 16th. Hence, will convert to pp on or before November 1st. Not sure whether US elections will have any impact on the processing time.

Dear all,

USCIS has updated processing time as of now July31st. And it still stays with October 2nd, 2015. My receipt date was February 22nd, 2016. Not sure whether i have to go for premium now. My 240 days limit reaches by December 2016. Could you suggest that no later than what date, i should apply for premium?

Receipt would have been generated, I beleive. But it will take 1-2 weeks to get the receipt notice. So wait for another week. One thing which you can do is to make sure that your packages was delivered to USCIS office. If it was delivered, no issues should be there. It is matter of time to receive the notice through mail.

Congrats Buddy!

It is really unpredictable how USCIS picks up the petitions. One of my friends whose filing date was in December got his approval in July end. I could see that still lots of folks report that OCT-DEC'15 petitions are pending. Looks like the order in which USCIS picks up the petitions got messed up. Guessing, the transfer of petitions from Vermont to Nebraksha might have caused it. From today(SEP 1st), Nebraksha directly accepts petitions. Hope that this will bring down the processing time.

Topic: H1b extension processing time - Vermont

H1B filed on Feb22nd, I94 Expired on April20th. My Indian passport expiring in Feb 2017. Since my name is misspelled in the receipt notice, I was not able to apply passport renewal. Name is now updated in USCIS but no new receipt notice was given. There are two things bothering me after reading this thread.
1. Will my H1B extension be approved before 240 days grace period.
2. Will I be able to get my passport renewed before its expiry? I can apply passport renewal only after getting H1B extension approval. How long does it usually take?
3. I may get released from the current project soon. Will there be any issue in moving to different client located at different location while extension is pending?

Any help to above questions are greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot!
