Topic: Oppose DACA for all its worth!

Seriously, people needs to show little compassion. We all have an option to go back to our country, where we were born and brought-up. A good part of our lives, we have been in our country. These people probably do not know any other place, this country is their home. Just because this country has a broken legal immigration system, it does not mean that we can't sympathize with DACA folks. These folks have much more to loose than us. For us, its ability to switch jobs and little uncertainty, for them its their "home".

You don't need the copy of I-I40. You just need the receipt number. The new company, where I am doing the transfer, just asked for the approval email.

You can share either the email or just I140 receipt/approval notice. That should be sufficient for transfer.

Topic: Falling short in merit based immigration system

As mentioned by others, this bill has very low chance of going forward let alone in the current format. If the congress can not pass through healthcare bill after shouting for 7 years, forget about any progress in immigration bill.

Topic: I140 Approved, H1b Extension question

Hello,

My I140 was recently approved. I will be using the same to get H1b extension. My question is - do I need the copy of I140 approval to get the extension? Would the receipt number be sufficient to get the extension?

Thanks for reading this post and for any potential replies.

Well...I am not sure if that's legal. You cannot start on just LCA. I am not sure what kind of company would force you to work illegally for them.

First of all, by joining on LCA, I believe you mean joining company B H1B transfer receipt.

If I were you, I would ask B to start the transfer (this should take few weeks at least), meanwhile if you receive offer from company C, where you really want to work, ditch the company B and go to C.

In worst case, even if you end up joining B and if the process for C takes longer, you can ditch B after joining and go to C. I have done this before. They would certainly be pissed, if you ditch them either after joining or after they start your H1b transfer. I would recommend not to think much about that, its your carrier and you have very limited flexibility to move around.

My attorneys have not updated me yet on the approval. Its approved as the details are visible on the ICERT website.

Attorney might update status when they would receive the hard copy of the Labor approval.

Mine approved as well. 4/5/2017, Approval: 23rd Jun.

First perm was filed in Aug 2013, which was ultimately denied, after the long wait of 2 years. This time, it was approved in just 80 days. I have 4 more months left on H1B.

I don't agree that they are processing more applications from Mar/Feb. No one knows that and no one has really good understanding of how applications are processed. If your filing month has started, you can get your results anytime from the start date.

Topic: H.R. 392, Fairness for High Skilled Immigrants Act

For any organization, especially for non-profits, transparency is the biggest factor in driving trust. I have been reading the discussions on their telegram group, if anyone ever ask about the money, they get angry and start abusing people. They definitely need more maturity and transparency to attract more support. According to them, all the other organizations are screwing up the case for this bill and they do not have the required skill and subtlety to drive this cause further.

Once again, they are one of the few organizations working on gathering the support for this bill. I might consider them supporting in future.

Well, its like most of the other non-profit charity organization. You mostly support them on their face value.

Getting a law passed is certainly not an easy tasks. That too, a law which would suddenly make thousands (or a million) of browns to become permanent residents of this country.

I am certainly not supporting them but to me it looks like IV is one of the few organizations working for this cause. Use your own judgement to support them. I might when I would reach the required stage to become stakeholder.

I have been a part of their Telegram group. I have not yet donated anything to them as I have not reached the stage wherein I would become a stakeholder to this cause.

I would not be able to comment on their efficacy but it does look like as if they have been working really hard to get the support for this bill. If you ask them anything about the donation money and about the efforts of other groups supporting this cause, they get hysterical.

I do agree with general consensus, not doing something might not be an option.

Thanks for all your efforts to publish the daily stats. Its greatly appreciated by all of us here.

Seems like the processing has slowed down. They have hardly processed 200 cases per day in past 2 days. Is that normal?
