Topic: EB1B profile review

I do not know them that well. We got profile reviewed by these guys in 2012. They said it was weak (and it was).

Going back to donsaber's comment, this is exactly what I mentioned earlier. You will have lawyers trying to get you to attach 10 recommendations from heavy hitter. What happens ? You used all your options and have no one left to support if there are follow up RFEs. Plus, the USCIS reviewer will compare you to these heavy hitters, and of course, you look like you are a nobody.

If you can, switch to Victoria. You can not go wrong with her. She is a mean machine who will get the job done and takes care of the smallest detail. E.g. she had told NSC EB1 filers to not go PP since there were a lot of day 14 RFEs coming out.

Her stats are mind blowing ..... the best 5K you will ever spend. Either way, good luck.

Just as note from what I noticed ...... your own boss's recommendation does not have a lot of impact unless he/she got the Nobel Prize.

Also, remember you need to keep some backup fire power for recommendations in case they come back with an RFE ..... food for thought.

Good Luck.

Try going with Victoria Chen since you are going with external lawyer. Or at least get free review. She knows better than USCIS whether case will get approved :) .......... agree that less than 100 citations may be an issue.

If you are filing NSC, do not file PP. Victoria was recommending this in 2017 since a lot of EB1 PP cases in NSC got RFEs.

Topic: October I-485 Filers (2017)

RD - 10/19 at TSC
FP - 11/16

Received an update today for I-765 for dependent that the card has been ordered. No other updates on I-131 (I understand this maybe normal) or I-485 for dependent. No updates on I-765, I-131 and I-485 for primary applicant.

Our case and few other cases are same ...... dependent EAD/AP received on combo but no news on Primary EAD/AP or the 485s.

Good luck everyone.

Once the EAD & AP is approved, USCIS will issue combo card. HOWEVER, only the online status for 765 gets updated. The 131 status will continue showing "Application Received" even after you receive combo card :)

NSC is taking much longer than TSC filings to get EAD/AP and to get transferred to NBC.

This looks like the local field office.

Following is what the NBC status looks like:

"On December XX, 2030, we transferred your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number SRC9999999999, to another office for processing and sent you a transfer notice. The notice explains why we transferred your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice."

For the 765 they have different department.585 and 765 have different department.i got 2 finger print notice one came from 485 and other came in 765.Before FP I got my EAD

There is ONE FP notice PER applicant.

You can receive EAD before your receive the FP notice since EAD does not have anything to do with FP.

As a side note, there have been cases where folks got the EAD 2 days after they received their GC.

Is the 2nd transfer always required before you can get the interview notice? Why I have the impression that some May 2017 485 filers got interview notice with only 1 transfer (to NBC)?

The 2nd transfer is to your local office. Hence, expect it to happen in order for applicant to be interviewed locally.

Typically, TSC -> NBC -> Local Field Office

Topic: i-485 birth certificate question

You should submit a copy of your birth certificate and 2 affidavits by parents and a secondary evidence (e.g., school records, government records, etc.) that has your name, DOB and parents names - typically bio page of passport works.

This form is only required for employer- sponsored I-140 cases that file I-485 separately from I-140.

Read the note for Part 5 in the form. If the employer is not the EB visa sponsor, they will not sign it.

OK.

I was under the impression that you typically receive the notice by mail that NBC is moving file to local office before the file actually move (and that is when the online status changes).

How long does it take to receive interview letter after your case get transferred to NBC?

Depends on how backlogged your local field office is. Some location you get interview letter after 30 days and some after 180 days.

No, I just got one for transfer to NBC.
What i meant to say is that based on my research, USCIS does not send notice for the second transfer which from NBC to local office.

My local office is Oakland Park Florida.

I believe the only way you will know that your case has been transferred or ready to be transferred is when you get the Interview letter.

not sure why?
did you receive physical notice? it will tell you where it was transferred?
I am guessing first one is to NBC and second one could be to local office. But from my research, I came to know that you dont receive physical notice for second transfer that is to local office.

So have you received both notices ? (transfer from TSC to NBC and then from NBC to local).

Can you share the local office ?

Thanks and Good Luck.

My wife's EAD status changed to below, anyone know what this means ? She has a long last name, would that have caused this.

On January 9, 2018, we updated your name for your Form I765, APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION, Receipt Number SRCXXXXX. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

Means someone touched the file ... nothing to do with the name ..... you should expect a decision REALLY soon. Good Luck !

(This does not happen in all I-765/131 cases)

Dependent EAD/AP status changed "On January 9, 2018, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number SRCXXXXXXXXXX, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
"

Primary applicant EAD/AP still pending.
