Topic: Should I report this?

I was shortlisted for a skype interview for a contract position in CA for a reputed company. I dont claim I am Albert Einstein but sort of good in my area of work. The other side of skype was an Indian(Interviewer), asked few questions and one tough one(tough for me). I was kind of thinking about logic, couldn't get any hints, was looking up or down(cant recollect) then suddenly the interviewer asked me - "are you using any tools to find answer?" / "who is there in the room helping you?" (not kidding, just for a fraction of seconds, I thought is there any 'bhooth'(ghost) in the room :-) ) and some Q's similar.

Topic: Should I report this?

There are tons of these scenarios in the world around us (atleast me). I used to get angry, sad, mad etc, now kind of ignoring as the level of fraudness is beyond my imagination. I see few known to me also tried to get my help (faking/proxy interviews, etc.), distanced myself and keep it clear I will never do that and keep away from me. Can't imagine what level these frauders go.. dont want to stereotype but saw most of them are desis. Let me tell you a incident happend few years back.

Topic: who is right: IV or immigration girl/lawyers

FYI - just a reality check:

First hand info from me: very close person on H1B got 15.5 months visa extension based on I-140(beyond 6 year) yesterday. Person got RFE last month, company got all paper-work(not sure what was missing as company told they will reply and will contact the individual if required). Case was upgraded for premium processing, company is public IT services company from India and individual is directly working with client in IT testing domain (with no middle layers) and there is offshore team too.

Topic: H.R. 392, Fairness for High Skilled Immigrants Act

On HR392,
as I see from the links, the last update is on 07/11/2017 and status is 'introduced in house'. Realistically, when will be the next step taken? I see 300+ members supporting, so when will it be put for vote? Is there any possibility in early 2018?

Topic: Salaries in India

I liked the way you put things here.. However, one small point you are missing (I think) is, for someone it may not be OPTIONAL/CHOICE to stay here or go back (Read: visa issues, uncertainties, kids education expenses due to non-GC/non-citizen etc..). These people who go are not 'escapists', they do not have any other options, and have to go back irrespective of what they want/think. So, it is better to have plans for both cases.

Personally, I do not have that 'bad' situation (touch-wood) here - as of now. For the future - (little bit philosophy) I will take the life as it is, not thinking too much, enjoying the place where am in.. came from very poor(just financially, not happiness/satisfaction point of view) background, dont think it will be problem to go back and enjoy the life as I did in those days.

More than welcome to comment on me :-)

This is in for toomuchwait36

I do not contradict many things said by you
You have said many bitter truths : But People won't accept those ( They just like to hear ear soothing things)

Not going back to India is actually Correct --> There is no going back
Many people will argue this and that about going back to India and Having a good life ( salary ) there -- > They are just trying to find excuses ( and an escape) --> I will never suggest this ( Going back to India) to any of my near and dear ones( Read Friend)

I actually suggest against going back to India to whosoever ( Friend) says about going back ( None of them has gone back Fortunately )

For the people making a case for going back to India , I have not much but only this much to say ( Bitter Truth) :

Firstly, you escaped problems of India ( Obviously using talent and capability to reach here - all have such capability , only few realize that and act -- you did better than those who never came out of India)
-->escaped ( or read : Got / created opportunity)
Secondly , you are trying to escape (problems/ stress of) US
--Going to India to find, what's missing here : peace and .... --> SO making a case For ( Going to India)

Now , I see it this way

Either your first decision was wrong ( so , your second decision--to India-- is about correcting the First one --to US-- now) : SO, unfortunately , you made a wrong choice / Decision at least once ( second one certifies that)

Although bitter , but believe me if you ask this question ( in front of mirror -- telling your self truth on your face) -- you won't argue more on this

P.s I live with philosophy : Appreciate what you got /achieved , Do not give up ( in the situation ) : this (assumed as tough) situation is the best what you should have got , make it better and do not escape

Please take this +ve , it's not to offend anybody , but to suggest to see Life is way that makes it better ( rather than thinking Grass is greener on other side : India in this case )

India is a great country ( I know , born , lived there :) ) : You can be proud of having roots in India but Make your current and future better in USA(using this opportunity to live and retire or even Die here, Although , one may prefer to Die on Holy Land of India , places like Varanasi ( Kashi) , Haridwar)

Topic: Salaries in India

I see lot of 'hate' (towards India) in your replies.. If you want to see how India progressing so far, compare with those countries got independence during 1940-50. Definitely WW2 helped to get independence but if one is thinking that is only sole factor, then it is unfortunate and unfair to those efforts (even loosing their life) of freedom fighters in India. I do not want to judge anyone, but facts are distorted here - so need to question intent.

Also, if you little open up your mind, you can see many ways to contribute(for those who want to go back one day) to the country even without 'pack and go back'. For example , see how current government is encouraging foreign investments. There are many more you can do without physically being there.

Agree on one thing - USA is a great country, no doubt about it.

Coming back to the subject, if you are 10+ year IT experience, there are lot of competition in India for higher positions. However, you still have a advantage working in USA, if you can capitalize the experience and skillset, 25L plus salary is not tough. I am not talking about top 5% companies, even medium companies (product companies) offer good salaries for right people (not sure about other cities, am talking in Bengaluru). Downside are very well discussed in many posts here - traffic, office politics, quality time spent for fixing issues like water not coming/electricity down/govt office work bla bla. Upside is you can enjoy lot of festivals, food and family and friends (if you are missing them here).

Any idea when my PD will become current? EB2-I , March 2015. Thank in advance.
Note: I understand the uncertainty with 'prediction', so no worries if the basis for the answer is completely wrong. With current numbers in queue, trying to understand where I am standing wrt optimistic/pessimistic views. Thanks again.
