Topic: September 2017 transfer from TSC to NBC

Guys ,

So my case status changed to approved yesterday. However, the date of approval says 3 days before I got the update.
For example, the online status change was received yesterday 19th at 3 am however the date on the notification says " your case was approved on 17th. I also did not get any text notification that I signed up for.

Also, i do not see anyone's case status changing to approved, mostly directly from case transfer/post interview to card production or card/mailed.

Am I being paranoid here or this could be an indication of some kind of error?

Topic: September 2017 transfer from TSC to NBC

Hey guys ,

I gave my interview today and wanted to share my experience.
RD: March 09 2017 EB3 ROW
Interview Date: Jan 16 2018 9AM

I went to the office early at around 7:30 am as I did not sleep well and wanted this to get over with. I was nervous at first but after i got there it was just like going to a DMV and watiting. I thought I would be the only one but there were already a bunch of people there for interviews. Most were marriage / family / asylum. Also, i think they do the interviews only in the moring thus the cause of the rush.

I dressed up business casual, plan shirt /sweater / tie. I think I was the only one overdressed. Acutally there were a couple of other desis and we were the only one dressed that fancy. Most people came on jeans.

I had taken of most of my documents such as BC , I20s , paystub , EV , taxes, AP , PP ..you name it. I also had a copy of each document.I put each of the document in a folder like this below and had a sticker label on top so that I would not have to dig through the pile when the officer asked for one.

https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Expanding-Fi...

Right around 9 am , the officer came outside and called my name. He took me in and was nice enough to tell me to have a seat. The officer already had my file opened and had a notes-sticker in the middle of the folder with notes on it.He asked for my ID and gave me a waiver to sign since my attorney was not there. He then took my photos and asked to scan my left index finger first. I dont know what I was thinking but I raised my right pinky finger , he said left and i raised left pinky finger , finally he said index and then i came out of my senses.

He then opened my I485 applciation and verified name , dob , address and confirmed if that was my signature. He asked me wheather I work for the same company ,I said yes but the company name had changed because our parent company merged and give him a copy of the EV letter.

After that we went through the questionarre. I was looking in the application folder and he had a red circle around the "have you ever been arrested or charged with a crime" section. When i got the interview appointment letter I also got a letter stating that I did not have to bring in court documents if the offence was not drug related and resulted in a fine less than $500. I had citation from 10 years ago for selling tobacco to minor. I had taken the court document regardless and when he asked that question I said yes and gave copy of the court document.

And that was it , he said he will take a final review at it and everything looks normal for now. He then proceed on to tell me when I should be expecting the GC and after 5 years I'm able to apply for citizenship and the details sorrounding the interview of GC. I think he spent half of the whole interview talking about the proess of citizenship interview rather than the PR interview.

I had filed an I824 F2j for my wife and asked him about it , he said those were seperate applications and did not look into it.

So that is it guys it was 15 minutes max , Its EOD today and I have not recieved the magic text but I think im hopeful for it. What else can we do right ? Hope is the best thing we have.

Good luck to everyone. I included some not needed details but wanted to be as real as it is.

Topic: Interview Experience

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sharing my interview experience in San Jose office:

EB-2 ROW
PD: 01/18/2017
I-485 RD: 05/02/2017
EAD/AP: 09/12/2017
Transfer to NBC: 09/21/2017
Interview notice date: 10/17/2017
Local office: San Jose, CA
Interview date: 11/17/2017
Card received: 11/27/2017

The IO asked questions from I485, including DOB, parent's name, most recent entry, marital status... etc. My attorney said it's the best to bring original birth certificate with me but I only had a scanned copy, which is sufficient anyhow in the interview. Supplement J is not required because I stayed with the same company. IO didn't ask for it at all. Brought my W2s and most recent tax return but IO didn't ask for them as well.

In the end of the interview, I was told the that case is approved and that I should receive the card in mail withing 3 weeks. Found the card in mailbox 10 days later, though the online status never updates since "Interview is Scheduled".

Just wanted to chime in about my EB-1B interview experience in SF.

I had my interview on the 20th of November, and it was a pleasant experience. The IO asked me to verify basic biographical information (name, DOB, current address) and answer all the Yes / No questions on the I-485. They also wanted me to confirm the date of last entry into the US. They made a couple of notes on my form and collected my I-693 with my medical exam (I wasn't able to submit this with my original application). We chatted about my employer and some of the research I've worked on that has gone into their products. All of this was very friendly and informal, more like talking to someone you've met at an event rather than a stressful interview.

At the end of the interview (roughly 20 minutes), they said congratulations and that everything looked good and told me to expect an approval within 30 days, if not sooner. I received my approval notice within a week of my interview and I'm currently waiting on the physical green card.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had my interview in SF yesterday and it seems to be mostly inline with other peoples experiences. The interview was friendly and took around 25 minutes.

Questions asked were mostly to confirm information provided on form I485 (things like day and place of birth, name of parents, date of last entry into the U.S. etc…) as well as reconfirming the yes/no admissibility questions.

Documents requested: Passport, EAD, employment verification letter and pay stubs.

(Though, given the generic nature of the interview notice I prepared and brought a _lot_ more documents, anything that I could think of that could possibly be of relevance.)

At the end the officer said there are no issues and to expect to hear back within 90 days.

Topic: Which step is more complicated ?

its more like 2 years including everything advertising to GC. Even then I promise you the wait feels 20 years.
Regarding the priority date , yea the population man - people like us from smal countries would never get the chance if it was not for the quota.

I have some friends in aus and they have points based system , almost all of the IT jobs are taken by Indians/chinese.
The pay for a grocery store manger in aus is similar to a DBA.

I say the most painful part is when people around you getting greened faster than you and they applied a lot later then you did.

Just here to say thank you.

Very few here do this kind of service. You did a great job of explaining everything very elaborately.

Currently scheduled for 485 interview. I824 was transferred to NBC as well. I will take my 824 along as well and see if they will approve both together.

Thanks again ...happy holidays.

Original applicatioin : In my case i sent the i485 filled form because it was in process and not approved, i think you should be fine with an approval letter.
you are correct on the 4th point.
Other documents : I sent additional documents supporting the 824 pretty much- marriage certificate.
