Topic: Transit Visa - via Frankfurt (H1 B expired) You shoukd have valid US visa in passport to apply transit visa. Recently i went Newark airport checked with Lufthansa staff's about travelling to Hime country after visa expiry through Frankfurt. They said no need to have transit visa if teaveling to home country. Me and my wife travelled through frankfurt after our US visa expiry in april 2016. I have also called germany consulate on this subject.

Topic: Transit Visa - via Frankfurt (H1 B expired) I flew through Newark,NJ. I had doubt about this and called German consulate at New York, they have confirmed dont need transit visa if we are traveling back to home country. Both my flights were Lufthansa.

Topic: Transit Visa - via Frankfurt (H1 B expired) You dont need transit visa if you have only one stop over at Frankfurt. I traveled in Apr 2016 with out issue. you need transit visa when you travel to different country other than home country.
