Topic: H-1B Transfer - Start date question

Hi,

I'm in the middle of an H1 transfer. Say my start date at the new company is February 5, 2017 and I decide to give two weeks notice on January 22 but my current company wants me to quit right away. Will I still be in status until I start work on Feb 5? What will my status be in the meantime?

Thanks,

Topic: H1b amendment

Hi, I'm switching from full time to part time on h1b. My current petition is valid until December 2018.planning to file an amendment for the switch. Can I switch as soon as we get the receipt from USCIS or should I wait for approval of amendment? How long is it taking these days ?

THanks

Topic: Work from Home one H1b

Yes, an amendment will need to be filed for the new labor market. If you switch between apartments, you wont need a new amendment. You can work from an apartment as long as you have a dedicated office space. I lived in a 3 bdr apartment where one bdr was used for an office. The employer won't have to provide anything other than a computer. They can hold you responsible for all other equipment, travel etc per your contract. Also, watch out for site visit. As soon as my amendment was filed, I had someone from USCIS conduct a site visit to verify my employment and salary details.

Topic: H1 - H4 conversion or H1B transfer?

Hi,

I'm on H1 valid till Dec 2018. Due to change in working circumstances, I might get fired soon. What are my options to switch to H4 (how soon can I file?) Do H4 conversion cases also get stuck in admin processing at the consulates? or how do I go about finding someone to do a H1 transfer? Do I have to leave the country? Say they give me two weeks to quit, what's the best way to go about COS? I have approved I-140.

Thank you!

Topic: Interview Waiver Program "Dropbox" experience for H1B in India

If they are eligible for dropbox, you can drop off. They don't need to be there. However for pick up, you may need a letter from your wife stating that you are her representative.

Topic: Interview Waiver Program "Dropbox" experience for H1B in India

Hi, I'm on valid H1.I want to convert to H4 based on my husband's H1. Can I use interview waiver dropbox for stamping even though I'm switching to H4? (All visas are current, previous dropbox stamping in India/Chennai).
