Topic: Steps after getting GC

Best to be in company for 1 year and in similar work for 3 yrs.

Or if you are in hurry be in same company for 6 months and atleast 2 yrs in same field.

2 years is too much. But 1 year seems reasonable especially with ac 21 like regulations. Thts why i said 1 year, but if not 1 atleast 6-12 months

Its a gray area. But 12 months should be 100% safe. Thats a guess again.

No - I am myself with an employer way over decade.

But leaving in less than 6 months has risks. Avoid risks. 12 months is for full peace of mind.

Get both ssn and dl updated. In case you lose GC, before getting i551 stamp you can use them (both together) for i9. Very important if gc is lost while changing jobs.

Not valid for employment ssn cannot be used:

Yes - get ssn updated so you know status is correct in SAVE.

And now pricking the painful nerve - Continue with employer who sponsored GC for 6-12 months and preferably atleast 12.

Topic: Quitting employer after GC

6 months is ok. Have you completed 1.5-2 years in all with gc sponsor?

If so i dont think 6 months should be an issue.

Topic: Quitting employer after GC

6 months to me appears ok. I dont even have problem with 1 year. But is it 100 % safe to leave job after 1 year? What i mean by 100% is 100% surety of not violating intent.

Topic: Changing job after Green card approval

6 months should be ok, especially if you have already worked 3-5 yrs for the employer. 10-12 (and preferably 12 months) should be 100% risk free (again with 3-5 yrs with same employer).

More the time spent the better - but human biological life is limited - and that's a concern :).

Topic: Do you have all the rights immediately after I485 approval?

I recvd actual gc in 2 days after approval.

It was my welcome notice that got returned and took another month. If you haven’t recvd gc since oct 11 raise a service request, address change request to update exact usps format address and also tracking id. Check where it was delivered. Replscing lost gc takes well over 7-8 months

No...

USPS sent it back, and instead of resending they generated fresh notice with new approval date. GC was hpwever delivered right in first attempt

Topic: Do you have all the rights immediately after I485 approval?

My i485 notice got returned, and got a new one after lots of follow up.

Now notice shows date that is a month after greencard date. What date will i considered to have become PR. To sum up- gc date is a month before welcome letter date.

When have i become resident from? Gc shows it a month before 485 approval notice date

Topic: I485 Dec 2016 Fillers

Got gc card in hand.

But approval notice returned back to uscis. Raised SR - still awaiting updates. I have got all correspondence till date on same address.
Worried now, hoping that it doesn’t impact my case.

Topic: New Card Is Being Produced

I did not have suppl j, so i will not receive that approval.

I have not recvd welcome letter ie 485 approval- just recvd the cards. There is no attorney on file, and some usps star batsman sent back my approval notice.

Topic: I-485 Approval After Sending RFE for Gonorrhea

I did the same thing, sent it without rfe and it worked. So try it, clearly write a cover letter. Include 485 receipts and send separate letter for each applicant

Topic: New Card Is Being Produced

I got GC 4 days ago - but no i797-NOA saying 485 is approved. Is this a reason to worry? Do i need to book infopass for this. Do we require this notice anytime later during n400 / renewal stage?
