Perm Draft Date: 07/31/2017
Perm Filed Date: 08/08/2017
Perm Approved Date: 01/16/2018

Days : 161

Finally, after a long wait of over 5 months the PERM has been approved. Thank you all for being the part of the discussion and updating the status on a regular basis.

Just a thing that I have noticed is though DOL does somewhat random selection of application from the pool for the particular month, I have seen one common trend. If you see the name of the the company approved on any given day most of them would be starting with a similar letter. Just an observation. Afterall there seems to be some method which we all are still not able to decrypt.

Good Luck to all....!!!

Still waiting..filed on 08/07..H-1B maxing out this week so had to leave the country. This uncertainty is killing. No idea how long one has to wait.

I heard, 1 year extension can be applied only if PERM is approved but not applied. May be am wrong. Any experts here can throw some light on this. Thank you.

to Nainikalakshmi:

You can apply for 1 year extension only if your PERM has been pending for more than 365 days. One cannot file 1 year extension with just PERM approval.

Thanks. Does it mean, even if PERM is approved but still I140 is pending, 1 year extension is not possible.

to Nainikalakshmi:

In that case it is possible. The rule says One can apply for H1B Extension of 1 year if thew PERM has been applied 365 days ago(provided I-140 is pending if it is approved). Its because a certified PERM expires in 6 months and one has to apply for I-140 within that period.
