Hello Members,

When my employer signed up for an account at the PERM website, they were asked to send a list a of documents to prove business existence, identity etc.

I have two questions:

a)My employer sent the documents 10 days ago and has not received any reply. Do you happen to know how long does it take to get the password and PIN after the requested documents have been sent?

b)Also, after how long would you recommend my employer call DOL if they have not received the password and PIN?

Thank you!

I have no idea how long it takes but I believe DOl employees just took extremely long vacation or just play sleeping beauties. I wonder whose "kiss" will wake them up.

My employer sent all documents by email with attachment as DOL gives you that option and got the login credentials in a day or two.

I was in the same situation 4 weeks ago. After my employer sent the required documents, there was no reply from Dol for about 10 days. Then attorney sent an email to then requesting an update. The same day they sent the PIN email to employer.

Ask your attorney to send them an email.

Thanks for your response. My employer sent a follow up email last week but did not even get any response on that. I will request them to send another follow up email.

@Mdas81 - Did the DOL ask for supporting docs from the company or did they not ask for those and still took 17 days?
I'm in the same situation, my employer submitted the request for the pin on 29th September and so far no response. They haven't even asked for any docs from his side.

Initially DOL asked for additional employer details to validate the existence ( as company changed from public to private limited). After my employer submitted those documents , DOL took another 17 days to generate the password.

I just spoke to my attorney and he is going to send them an email today following up on the status.
Lets see what happens!!

Thank you for quick response!

As you said in earlier response that DOL did not ask for documents from employer even after 14 days. Did they ever ask for documents or they provided log in details without documents?

Will asking attorney to send query to DOL help?

Thank you so much!

No documents were asked for. They provided the log in details without docs.

I did ask my attorney to send an email and he told me he had sent them an email, not sure if it helped caused it took 5 days even after that for them to send it across. Being the holiday season, i wont panic about it. If i were you, i would make sure the labor is atleast prepared (i know you need the pin to even create the draft online) but make sure the attorney can file it pretty much the next day you get the pin from them.

Hi,

did you get your Log in and PIN from DOL yet?

They asked for additional docs, we sent them 3 weeks ago and since then radio silence.
I don't understand why it takes so long.

to HelenS:

Yes.

It took almost 4 week to receive it with Thanksgiving holidays in between. Your employer should receive it in this week or next, there may be a little delay because of Christmas and new year vacation. You can ask your employer to send email to DOL for the status, it will probably come back with "under processing" status.

Hello - I am under same situation as you are. During the first week of December 2016 my employer replied to DOL with additional document they asked for to verify business existence. Until now they have not received PIN. Any ideas how many days it will take to hear from them?

Hi,

I contacted my lawyer a couple of times on this matter; she says she has a lot of cases like this and that issuing PIN now takes about a month. She also says it's too early to follow up with DOL. I think we should be receiving something in maximum of 2 weeks. Plus, Christmas holidays delayed the process.

It has been 4 weeks since the requested documents were sent so you are saying wait another 2 weeks plus the holiday delays?
My lawyer has send an update email to DOL and hopefully we can get something back today.

My employer got the PIN/Password this morning. So I guess the email my lawyer sent yesterday works. You should ask your lawyer to send an email to DOL to see if they have any updates.

This is ridiculous. DOL requested documents for Business Existence on 12/13/16 and was quite for about 3 weeks, and on 1/9/17 my employer requested an update, they send letter saying "under processing". It's been 5 weeks!
Has anyone had similar situation?
