Government shutdown will not impact fee-based government functions such as visa issuances that are not dependent on annual appropriations. So, should not have any impact

Yes, I was there at 10am to drop off the docs. This is my 1st time using the Dropbox option. The lady at the counter told me it'll take ~ 3 to 5 days to get my passport back. I'll be picking it up on Monday.

Hang in there, boss. I'm sure you'll get some update this week itself. Make sure to check the CAEC and the US Traveldocs site to see the movements of your passport. And keep us all updated on your case as well.

Dropbox at Hyderabad.

I am a full time employee.

Dropped my documents off on 19th of December 2017.

Since then my status on CEAC has been Administrative Processing with no updates.

I haven't even been called for an interview yet or the ustraveldocs guys are updating me anything meaningful.

I had an extension done in Aug 2016, it took 4 days for documents drop off and passport pickup. This now is very weird.

Would appreciate if anyone can offer their insight.

Thank you.

I had applied for H-1B renewal using dropbox at Hyderabad consulate. Here is my timeline:
Dec 22,2017: Dropped my documents at Hyderabad
Case Last Updated: Jan 3rd 2018, Application Received
Passportstatus Email : There is no status update available for the passport number submitted.
Sent an email to ustraveldocs but got a standard reply visa application is under processing at the Embassy/Consulate
Still waiting for update.
Has anyone seen the same thing?

Same thing in my wife's H4 renewal:

Dropoff (Pune): 14th Dec
Case created: 19th Dec
Case last Updated: 22nd Dec

Has been in "Administrative Processing" (New Delhi) for 1 month now without any other information of any kind. No status available for the passport. This is extremely frustrating.

to Prees:

She sent her documents for drop-off to Pune to her cousin. We chose New Delhi as the "Post" in US TravelDocs application as it would be nearest to home.

Does your passport status also say "No status update available" for your case?

I have read about F1 to H1 transition taking time . Are all H4s and H1Bs getting their passports back on time?

Thank-you Everyone for your kind comments and support. My case was updated to “Issued” this morning.
Very much hoping to have the passport by tomorrow.
So I guess the standard time is about 1 week after you submit documents.
