I had my h1b till 2019 as well. But instead of getting into hassle of stamping , I chose to go hassle free way. And for h1b stamping, there was few months of wait in our country and I was in need of immediate travel. But h1b stamping was defintely my last option to go for.
If you have all the documents needed for h1b I don't see any issue on stamping . But still, getting your AP copy would be more easier and less painful in my opinion.
Since you are about to leave before getting the copy, just wanted to make sure it is not some kind of emergency. If this is kind of emergency , you can go to field office and get your AP right there on same day.

You just need to show your AP and passport to the immigration official. They are aware of it, no explanation needed.

My POE was DFW , Dallas, TX. But I do not think it is relevant as I came from Doha which has pre-clearance. Basically what it means is , all the immigration and custom declaration are taken care at Doha itself by US immigration officials ( was in 3 hrs line ) before boarding the plane. My arrived date on US is the date I boarded plane on Doha, not the date I landed in Dallas. In Dallas, there was no immigration at all. I was in local transit, not international transit basically.

Thank you so much. I have a question. In case if I travel on advance parole and for some reasons my i485 gets rejected do I still keep the approved i797 till it's valid date and go for stamping when I wish to ...or how does that work ?

to lyfisshort:

If your i-485 is rejected, most PROBABLY your AP terminates with it . But as long as you maintain your h1b, you can go to stamping anytime. Make sure you carry all the docs needed for it when you travel.

My other friends did.

What they told me is, just handover your EAD+AP card to the immigration officer along with your passport & that's it. No more questions :)

I checked my I-140 status and found an update on my case. Any idea what does it mean? Is this related to any local verification/interview pertaining to I-140. Did anyone come across similar case update as below?

Case Was Received At My Local Office On October 27, 2017, we received your Form I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker , Receipt Number SRC1790XXXXXX, at your local office. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

My attorney has submitted a case inquiry just a couple of days back...hoping to get some update soon....It has been more than seven months (RD March 2017, EB1B) and still counting.....

to kchan:

Didn't get any satisfactory SR response....just "Your case is currently with an adjudicating officer. You should receive a decision or notice of further action within 60 days."

Any idea what does it mean......

Concurrent filing....EB1B...pending since March 2017......don't know what's going on.....

Any update on EB1C I140 for Dec, Jan & Feb?

I don't see any post so does it mean again USCIS has slowed down?

I've seen this week approvals for EB1C concurrent filling for beginning and mid-March and one for January. This for TSC.

Go to My Trackers and choose I140 and the list will appear, people that updated their info first. Ex. There is the user dn2000 that filed on Jan 13th just got approved.

History of my EB2 I-140
RD: 03-08-17
Received RFE: 09-22-17
Sent evidence to USCIS: 09-27-17
Evidence received by USCIS: 10-02-17
Approval notice date: 10-24-17
Employer received I-797: 11-01-17
Case Status online still shows "Response To USCIS' Request For Evidence Was Received". (11-05-17)

Good luck to Everyone!

My RD is 4/28. I guess the processing times on USCIS website do not matter. There are lot of folks from Feb/Mar still waiting for approvals (they don't even have RFEs, its just that the applications are not even touched)

to V575:

You can check status of your SR by logging in to USCIS case status page, add your case (if you already haven't) and scroll down to case history. I recently had opened SR on 10/16, it was assigned to officer on 10/24 and they closed it on 10/27 with a generic cookie cutter response.
