I think the SR triggered the officer to find out the status of the case which probably was approved by then. Heard that happened to others too. Perhaps they "forgot" to send approval notices sometimes and need an SR to kinda dig that out. Yes, they changed online status one week after I received the approval notice in mail.

to mahmed5:

It really depends on case type and proof of the case.

Apparently my case is not strong enough (to quick approve), the SR told me not to contact them in 6 months. (EB1C)

to stevenchu:

I don't think waiting timelines has anything to do with how weak/strong is the case.

Waiting timelines are just to adjudicate the case. If they don't read the case at all how they know the case is weak/strong :). Actually processing has become very slow as most people are going for Permium Processing, so officers doesn't have bandwidth to adjudicate regular processing case.

Also as per USCIS processing time, EB1C is moving at slowest rate.

to WaitingGuy1:

I know.
My case is ahead of the timeline. And (EB1C are slowest in EB's) a friend who applied 10 days later than my submit date was approved at early Oct.(same country nearly same condition, except he wasn't even filled a tax return).
That's why I'm feeling so bad at EB1C and USCIS... (They even told me not to contact them until 6 month of the first SR date passed)

Not to feel bad on this :)

It has happened with me also that at similar point of time they already had an approval & I am sure it's pretty much common. It's all about when they pick up whose file. :)

to Yprocks:

Service Request & InfoPass did not help in gaining any additional information to what I already knew. L2 officer I spoke with last said "300 days for concurrent filing these days is not considered as a long time, you have to wait. I suggest you reach out to us after 60 days".

For me it'll be 365 days soon. Nowadays everything looks normal because abnormal term doesn't exist anymore :)

Received response to my SR on I-140. TSC RD 1/23/17. EB1C. Filed 140 and 485 concurrently.

I-140 Pending. I 485 Pending.

We have received your service request and researched the status of your
case. We have had to perform additional review and this has caused a delay
in processing time. Your case is currently in line for processing and
adjudication. Cases are processed in the order in which they were
received.

Any thoughts, experiences as to how long it takes to hear back from USCIS? Anybody with approvals after this step who can guide me?

Thanks

Ah! So, I understand there is no update you have received since then. Is there any next course of action at this point? I believe its jut waiting from now on!.

Did you check with your lawyer about this.. Is this something to do with I-140 or I-485. I couldn't find any thread leading to such responses with I140 but saw a few associated with 485.

To be honest there is no way out other than playing endless waiting game.

No matter what you do, they will pick up the case when they want to. Now it's matter of luck that they may pick up tomorrow also OR may not be in next 6 months also.

To my knowledge whatever correlation you want to do, still you will not able to figure out a formula because of it's randomness :)
