Why does Trump wants people from Norway? Are they Scientists or Doctors or Engineers? He thinks people from Haiti, Africa are unskilled. By the way, Republicans were saying that he was talking about economy is this a metaphor? I don't get it.

He wants people from Norway because they are white that's the only reason, he doesn't want people from Haiti and Africa because they are black, he's racist and doesn't hide it.

Parents to are immediate family. They should have right to come here as GC. But if they work they should be part of welfare from grovement. That’s how it is now. But this should have more check points.

This is unfortunately the same situation and reasoning why India doesn't want immigrants from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Burma.. Trump is just being a Nationalist that he is and very similar to many country leaders including India and the same African countries he was referring to. These African countries have similar nationalistic leaders who do not want to let poorer neighbors into their country as immigrants. These smaller things do not get reported that's all.

to mfd1402:

really? that's interesting.... you don't smell racism here ? then Trump should create Skill level visas under refugees and Temporary Protections and allow only high skilled. I can assume all Trump supporters in this forum are either selfish pigs or stupids.
You talk all BullSh*T to support that you have every right to get a green card and no one else in this country.

Wrong. He don't want brown and black people. Period. Nothing to do with skilled and unskilled. Every country needs unskilled and poor people to do shitty jobs.

Its amazing how some people are jumping over hoops in this forum not to see Trump in bad light.
Trump doesn't have or express any opinion based on facts or deliberation. He speaks whatever is on that filthy mind and racism is deep rooted in there.

Simple solution to this immigration problem is by giving a one time 24 months EAD to DACA illegals and asking them to find an employer who can sponsor H1B and green card in that time frame and also removing country cap and prioritizing skills so that low skilled immigrants will have to wait decades if they can survive H1B before getting greened. Only 5% will survive this and the rest will be self deported. I am really tired of these liberal turds just nodding to the crap elites and business community's self interests with DACA.

Goodlatte bill might well be dead. No one is considering that.
A little traction for senate talks but that did not seem to have anything for employment based immigration.

to Waitingforjuly:

Any immigration bill has to start from House judiciary sub-committee according to existing Law. The bill proposal then swings between house and senate and president for changes. Labrador is Chairman of sub-committee for Immigration and Goodlatte is the Chairman of this Judiciary committee.

This proposal is here to stay and there will be changes, updates but this is where the Immigration bill will originate.

to VSCsucks:

Your simple solution ought to be around employment and highskilled (H1B) at that because that is what is on your mind all the time. But there is (immigration) world out side of it. DACA is about kids brought illegally by their parents and they dont have any association with their "home" country. So they tend to see it as their life rather than employment. So there is nothing simple in it.

to thereislight:

Right. that is by procedure.
But no body is willing a second look on this. No takers on the democratic side and lot of opposition on republican side. So it doesn't even qualify as a starting point. I wish it were because the employment based changes have little opposition and there would be fair chance of leaving it in final version.

Anderson Pooper and Don Lemon are the biggest hypocrites in the world and their heart follows a selective beat for their selective projects, Haiti, VZuela, Puerto Rico.

I've heard that scumbag pooper regularly refer to foreign countries as 'Third World' and 'Basket Case'

Don't see how materially different shithole is from 'basket case'.

If there is another bill that will be proposed then it still has to originate under Goodlatte's nose. The points in his bill will mostly remain. I don't know who in the admin is not willing to take a second look at this bill? The only sticking point I see is DACA which will be updated in this bill but all other legal immigration points are more or less going to stay the same.

We need both skilled and unskilled immigration reforms. Which includes parents and family memebers. Trump is about white America which is never gong to happen.

I do not support Trump as he is anti immigrant ... but from what I read in news he supports the Goodlatte bill which was giving 50K visas to EB backlogs ..... indicating he prefers legal skilled labour as compared to random low skilled ppl from undeveloped countries ... I feel giving first preference to high skilled legals is a better option than giving preference to TPS refugees who will be mainly low skilled
