That is true, but since 18K more GCs will be availabe in EB2, and if we assume that EB2-ROW applications don't change, EB2 India and EB2 China should receive a total of 18K more GCs, right?

I think this link helps you. It does not seem that Indians waiting for GC (both categories) is more than 350k but you are better to look at the link. (I am not Indian)

You mean 500-600K EB2 India guys? Remember the queue is only for India and China. That sounds too high. This means that even if all the new 50K greencards go to India, it will take 10 years for a person who applied in 2016/2017 to get GC?

100,000 gcs could be given to EB2/3 per year IF good latte bill passes and EB1C abuse stops.

the bipartisan Senate group, which has been negotiating for months, has also discussed changes to the diversity lottery— potentially shifting those visas toward Temporary Protected Status recipients — and changes to family-based immigration.

It appears this time we are hearing from horse mouth about the increase in EB based visa as part of DACA deal, so it's going to be interesting to see the final bill how it might help for legal immigration community with or without PCC elimination.

to tim00897:

It may be controlled if the Awareness about "the EB1C Abuse" is spread to each and every Senator/Congress men/Official.

Going through what has been published here: https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/senato...

The 50,000 diversity visas are being allocated to people under TPS from El Salvador, who entered the country illegally 12-15 years back. I have nothing against these TPS folks. However, it appears that there is nothing in the Senate’s DACA bill that benefits the 500,000+ legals waiting in green card queue. At least Bob Goodlatte’s DACA bill in House has allocated those 50, 000 visas to the employment based immigrants. There should be 100,000+ legal immigrants who entered country 10-15 years back, and have not received the green card. It appears that there will be nothing in the bill that takes care of the H4 Dreamers.

Anyone working closely with SIIA or folks managing that SIIA Facebook post?
Please convey this message. With 150,000+ members in SIIA Facebook, it’s time to mobilize people and create a Twitter storm and draw attention of press and Senators. Apart from Senators, House members and White House, the Twitter storm should also target the media too including CNN, NY Times, Washington Post, Fox News, NBC, CBS etc. The twitter message should clearly indicate that 50,000 visas are being reused for other purpose, but nothing has been done to clear the green card backlog for legal immigrants and H4Dreamers, who are waiting since last 10-15 years. SIIA should post the time to publish the message in twitter and provide the required guidance to create the Storm. Even SIIA can mobilize people to call the Senator’s office about this. By tomorrow OR Friday, we should get to know about the proposed details in the DACA Bill. SIIA can plan accordingly and post the message to its members.

I know there is an advocacy event scheduled by SIIA on Feb 8th. However, if nothing is initiated right now to draw the attention of Senate members, who are crafting this DACA bill, then chances of getting anything done in this election year will be difficult.

only 7% of those unfortunately - you'll get your green card 45% sooner...instead of 35 years, 20 years.

At this rate, deal looks difficult. Lets see how they negotiate. It would have been good if HR392 was at least on the table for discussions, but looks like might not be the case.

I get the feeling the senate version of the DACA bill will not have anything for people in the backlog or changes to EB immigration.

Goodlatte said Merit based Immigration will NOT be a part of this bill.

He is asking DACA folks stand in line with other EB visa category people. This is not going to anywhere.

what the fark.....the goodlatte bill is at least meaningful....better than nothing with increase in GC #'s overall...

The Jeff Flake's birpatisan bill is a farking amnesty bill with nothing for legals.....nobody gives a rats ass about H4 dreamers/H1 dreamer kids but everyone and their uncle have sympathy for dreamers...

The dreamers we are talking about are no children....many of them claim to have come here when they were 17 and now 30-40yr olds......

Now they are calling TPS dreamers....what about folks LEGALLY here....never seen a country go so backwards....smh

Goodlatte bill doesn't remove country caps.

Read the bill on page 21
Only increases per year GCs to 9940 per country.
