I am not positive with IV effort to clear the EB backlog. They are only stressing on HR392 and there is opposition within DEMs for it. So far its not there in any bill proposal. Nobody in DEM or REP are talking about country quota. If they can not convince Dem then it will not be in any bill for sure..

I hope they post it.
I don't think HR392 gets done outside of a DACA deal, and that too to fund some aspect of the overall bill - neither Ds nor Rs have any motivation to fiddle with EB. IV realizes that, and their whole $1000 gambit is smart

I agree!! They are sticking to HR 392, which is long shot. why wait for that bill to pass. when Trump is ready to resolve any immigration issue. IV are rigid on bill.. but I feel trump admin want to do which solve lots of issue of immigration along with DACA. Guys its high time to get GC rather involve in politics and pass a bill which may take several years.Better approach to contact your congress person and explain your situation. Trump admin works at grass root level .. they like that way.

If you feel its smart, may be, but do you have any time line for that smart move.. You want GC now or after 5 years with the smart move. Just my thought, I am ok if they have an option for $1000 for each application. but that will take time.. Try to get something in this bill also. President is ready to fix why not? If we cant get anything here.. then fall back is that bill, of course.

Guys dont stop.. keep calling. last few days.. No one asking money.. just call and tell them your situation.

Some people will never learn. Everything was clearly explained in the call along with next steps. Instead of calling with no message and just whining about your situation, listen to the call, join state chapters and work with your fellow district and state members, read the advocacy materials provided and make the calls.

It’s all in the messaging and strategy. Blind calling will not work. Cannot stress this enough, we are very close to HR392 getting done. We need backlogged community to come together at this time to get it past the finish line. Stop listening to naysayers and follow the action items and messaging. The more people who join hands the better the chances of getting the bill done.

No one else will take interest in your issues except you. When you want a promotion you do not go to your manager and whine about how miserable your life is without that extra benefits you would get from the promotion. You message your achievements and why you are an asset to the team, what you can do to help the company and show how valuable you are so that the manager feels like promoting you is justified. That does not mean you go arrogant and say nothing will work without you. The strategy is in how you message is without coming across as arrogant or weak and maintaining the balance. That is precisely what we need to get this bill passed as well.

Your future depends on this. Now is not the time to sit on the sidelines expecting someone else will do it for you. Take charge and start participating actively and this will be done in the next couple of months. The next 15 to 45 days will be the most critical for backlogged immigrants to get a fix.

Take charge and participate. If you miss this train, we are screwed to remain in the backlogs waiting for the next obstacle thrown our way by the anti immigrants in the admin. The tim for action is now. When the call is posted, listen to the call and take action.

I agree. call your Reps and flood twitter account with messages and request. Even we you cannot join any group at least the spikes of messages on social media accounts of the representatives can help i believe. Lets come together we all need this.

I don't understand why hating in IV is such a big part of this forum - while they are far from perfect, they are just a group of people. Far stronger lobbies have failed to achieve anything. I don't think IV's work has hurt immigrants, it may not have helped, but they are trying. I think they tend to oversimplify, over exaggerate, and engage in fear mongering - but i believe it is necessary to make sure the community stays focused.
Now HR392 may never see the light of the day, but their efforts ensure it is a topic, and it is a consideration when negotiations happen. And this may result in some other form of relief - it could be temp gcs, or eads/aps, or whatever.

I don't understand it either...but the vitriol against IV has greatly increased since the rumors about them being behind the AC-21 6 year extension 'leak'. Just you wait, there will be 10 other posters who will use this thread to start dumping s*** on IV.

Most of he hate come from 1) people who don't want us to work on this - they gain by the backlogs, lawyer groups, consulting firms etc. 2) personal beef with IV because they are abrasive, which they are.

The DEM bill was thrown out, Goodlatte bill is DOA. so, it's a bit of get back drawing board and we need to push the $4B even more. Trump wants some kind of border security and we Can provide that.

Else, we should be ready to be stuck forever waiting in fear when we get deported. As you grow older, it becomes harder to move with kids etc. so, now is the time. If something passes in 2018, no one is gonna revisit immigration. That is what many folks here, working for shady consulting, lawyers etc want. Let's not fall for that.

I am also not against IV, they are doing their process in govt way. Which may be true in their prospective. They may win after 20-30 years and as a organization that would be their win, but loss of 1-2 indian generation. I have several instance where they literally abused fellow Indians on the call or even on email. I am not sure he born as super intelligent or what. But if the person cannot respect someone and didnt achive so far in 10 years. its hard for me trust him. Well I am not stopping any IV supporter to support them. But having in US 12 years, I believe IV success is very slim. Though I have donated them in the past, but stopped after abuse.

Just ignore the haters and keep working.

Most haters are the people who think that after spending 15 minutes to learn about the issue, they will suddenly come up with a bright idea. That's where 'why don't you do this?' questions come from. Others are people who talk the talk but never walk the walk. Pure defeatist people who deserve to stay in backlog for 5 more generations.

Anyone asking for timeline thinks this is some kind of a project. They will try to calculate ROI and KPI for a political process. Let them stay busy spinning their wheels in quagmire of numbers and visa bulletin analysis. Anyone else who want to learn can wait for the audio recording and use their brain and google to find the guide.

If Trump admin do this reform and we are not included, then I am feel for the next 2-3 years, no one care for us. May be you are new in US and just joined the GC queue and ready to wait for another 5-6 years. Thats not case with people waiting in since 12 years. In your perspective IV is right, in my perspective not. If you show me one great immigration achievement in last 10 years, I will change my stance. They have only one bill which fails several times. I am saying we should keep our option open for all. Why they are not open for any other option. They are just targeting to remove country quota which will not happen in next 5-6 years.. Mark my word. If you are ready to wait for another 5-6 years.. That's fine.. I am not ready!! I already spent 10 years in GC queue.

I don't even know what you wish to convey in that reply. I got the no one is hater part and me being blind part. Got it!

As I said before, if anyone wants to get involved, use google. You will find recordings and guides. It is very easy to find it. For anyone wanting to learn about last night's call, wait! They typically publish a recording.

My experience is that most people do not understand the threat or are afraid to stand tall in their own skin . Once they grow out of this phase, they seek resources and become active on their own. Most casual 'need update' people are pretty useless.

Summary of the call they are working on Hr392 with some clause which may pass. They are very near to archive the success. I wish good luck to the IV, if they achieve. :)
