Just an update on my case.

My wife (dependent)- received her GC and EAD/AP yesterday
I am still waiting. I am just hoping there is nothing wrong with my case causing this delay

has this happened to anyone else??

to omfprof:

According to the instruction of I864, it stated

"Employment-based preference immigrants in cases only when a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or U.S.
national relative filed the immigrant visa petition or such relative has a significant ownership interest (five percent or
more) in the entity that filed the petition."

You only need it if you work/ file your petition in a family-owned business, as I understand.

Hi

Is there separate thread where people are sharing their interview experiences for employment based interview process? Appreciate your input. I have an interview and will like to read few experiences and will share mine when I am done. Thanks

I-864 is for family-based green card only. My lawyer submitted I-134 instead (which is still an Affidavit of Support).
If I-864 was required in employment-based cases, NBC would've raised an RFE for that, but they didn't.

Hi, what kind of "marriage supporting evidence" did you show? Did you show pictures or just rental agreement, bank account etc?

just an update and I hope this will help others in future.

it looks like green card are produced in Lee Summit production facility MO and Corbin Production facility in KY. In my wife's case, GC and EAD were produced and mailed from Corbin and in my case it looks like the GC is coming from the Lee Summit facility which has caused the delay.

Just an update on my case.. Still no news on the i485 approval or i485j approval (interview was on november 29th), however I opened a SR for the EAD last week and today I received a notice that they have ordered my card. No news on the Advanced Parole, but hoping they arrive together. The officer would only allow me to open a SR for the EAD. Has anyone traveled using the Advanced Parole while waiting for green card approval? I really wanted to travel for the holidays and am losing hope that my i485 will get approved before then..

Thanks for the response. Did you have any issues getting back in? What documents did you present at customs?

I know some people who used AP to get in. No questions asked and they just showed the AP card. This is at JFK.

I just finished my interview. it was pretty straight forward. I took the oath and took fingerprints again. He asked my about my PhD Degree than my job , i guess because mine is NIW. He collected my passport and looked at it with the visas etc. Then basically we went through the Yes/No questions. He didn't wait for me to answer and said some doesn't even apply to me. He congratulated me on getting the NIW approved and said good job. He asked about whether I still worked with my current firm to which i replied Yes. Asked me about my older job and what I did and told him it was the same as this but more specialized. Asked me whether my address had changed. He said everything looks ok and that he was waiting for my fingerprints and i should give him a couple of weeks to review. I told him i brought all this documentation but He said, i had submitted all that i needed with my application and that i made it pretty easy. So he didn't collect anything...No mention of Form I-864 etc. He collected nothing. So now it is a waiting game... i don't like the couple of weeks but we will see ...:). It took 30 minutes for my interview.

My interview also completed yesterday and like everybody else, it started with an oath and signing a paper since no lawyer was accompanied. No documents asked only passport and driving license. After asking y/n questions from I485, the officer asked when was I last entered USA and what visa category, tell me about your job, what is the best part of your job, etc. Over all very nice experience and it was done in 20 minutes. I carried a bucket load of documents but the officer already had my folder with all the docs submitted during original filing. At the end, he told me that we will have decision in 2 to 4 weeks. I hope it helps all of you who are waiting for their interview. Please let me know if I can answer any other question. Good luck to all!

Interestingly, i didn't sign anything that a lawyer didn't accompany me... I didn't go with a lawyer.... I just swore the oath. I am glad you mentioned the 2 to 4 weeks... make me feel much better... and i didn't get anything that said they were reviewing my case at the end of the interview. It was quite informal.
