Hi guys,

Want to share my interview experience with you.
I had the interview today in Philadelphia. EB-2.
It was scheduled for 8:15 am. We came there at 8 am, and were taken to the interview right away.
A lady officer was super nice and friendly.
Almost right away she said that everything looks pretty good to her.
Then she asked the following:
1. Originals of passports, birth certificates, marriage certificate + translations
2. A few questions regarding the marriage:
- how we met
- why we decided to get married
3. Questions from the 485:
- name
- address
- birthday
- parents names
- parents birthdays
- marriage date
- spouses's name and DOB
- any previous marriages (if yes, why it didn't work ourt when was ended, name of the prev spouse)
- any kids from the current or prev marriage (if not in the US, are they planning to come)
4. About 20 yes/no questions from the 485
5. What else do you have for me?
I showed some pictures, joined tax returns, named other things that I had, but she said enough.

After that things got a bit messed up. They had some issues with their system, and it couldn't load our fingerprints. She offered us either to wait, or to come back for fingerprinting again. We said we would wait. She was very nice to come out to us to the waiting room a couple of times saying that it's not working yet. Then in about an hour we had to go out to pay to for the parking meter. It took us about 15 minutes (I ran out of coins, and needed to go get some in a store across the street). And while we were out there, the officer called us and said that there's no need to come back, the fingerprints got loaded, and now they would be waiting for "clearing" them (is it like an additional background check?).
After that we just left.. Hopefully all was ok.

Hi there,

Do not wear full suit. It is not really needed. Just a nice long sleeve collared shirt with a nice trousers, like you are going for job interview in the university or in research institute. Good luck for the interview. Thank you!

You are right. Usually you are only able to get your GC once you PD is current. If your PD is not current, then it is a problem. The USCIS officer will tell you about it during the interview, whether the retrogression is effecting you or not. I have friends who did apply for their GC a few years ago, and they can not get their GC because of the retrogression. One of my friend has his second retrogression, and another friend has his third retrogression. Good luck and all the best for your interview. Thank you!
