Hi,
anybody experienced it already? I hope I'll get my interview notification late Jan - mid-Feb but haven't seen anybody from the same area. There should be a lot of employees from Qualcomm at least (though I'm not one of them).

This is not my interview experience, I read it on other forum, but I would like to share it here.

Case:EB1A
Local Office:San Diego
Date of Interview:1/3/2018

The officer lady asked for our recent I-94, pay stubs, and our passports. She verified our name and DOB. She also asked some yes or no questions and some questions as following,

Questions for me:
Why do you apply for GC?
What research are you doing?
What research do you do usually?
Please share you research experience.
What is the research you are proud of mostly?
Why do you choose the lab you are working at?
Who is your boss?

Questions for my spouse:(About our marriage)
The first time we met. When and where?
How is your relationship?
How do you maintain your relationship?(Because we lived in different place before marriage)
When did you propose to your spouse?
Wedding. When and Where? How many people attended your wedding?
Meeting parents. When and where?

At last, she wanted to see our wedding pictures, and she took 2 of those.

to swadesh78:

My dates are earlier than yours except PD at NSC. It explains somewhat that the applications are reviewed based on PD.
Why do you have both eb1a and Eb1b in your profile? Did you apply both concurrently?
I don’t see EAD approval in your profile as well. Any indication that it’s being worked on?

Hello everyone,

My background is EB1A/India.

Me and my wife had interview at San Diego field office on Feb 20th and here are our experiences:

We (also 2 of my kids) were waiting for for nearly 1 hr after the security check and checking in the counter to be called in for the interview.

The officer came to collect us was very polite and respectful and both my files and my wife files were ready on the table when we entered the room. We started the process with oath. He then started collecting our documents and begin it with DLs. He then went through passports, EADs and birth certificate. He then asked marriage certificate.

Step 1:
Questions to me:

He was inquiring about the "letter from employer: which obviously I didnt carry. When he asked about it, I politely but firmly said I belong to EB1A category and I didnt even need to be currently employed. However, I showed last 3 pay stubs and he collected them. He noted down all the points.
Then he asked several questions related to my current and previous research activities:
i) Briefly explain the current research
ii) What was your research topic during PhD?
iii) What was your research topic when you were working in India?
iv) Where you got your masters and bachelor degrees?
v) How did you obtained your current job?

Step 2: Questions to my wife:
i) How did you guys met?
ii) Was it arranged / traditional marriage?
iii) Whats your educational background?
iv) If you get a job in which field you would like to work?
v) DO you have access to the joint bank account? (!!!!!)
vi) What other proof do you have to show that you both are still living together? We were carrying the joint bank statement and that was sufficient. Though we were carried all of our previous w2 and tax returns we forget to mention about it and also he didn't inquired about it.

Collected all the family/marriage photos (we carried 5 photos in total) to keep it in our file.

After these questions he went out to make photocopies of the originals and returned them later.

Step 3: Then he asked both of us to answer for the few of the I-485 yes/no questions together.

Step 4: Confirming I-485 details

Finally he asked both of us to verify the name and address.

He didnt ask random questions like parents details or I-94 information.

Then he said our cases approved on the spot and congratulated us. The total interview time was around 20-25 minutes. He then walked us to the door and wished all the best.

I got the t ext/email alert within 2 hours about the card production information and yesterday (23rd Feb) the mailed it.

I would like to thank everyone for the information and courage what you guys provided. Thanks a ton guys. I also wish all the best for those who are waiting for the good news.

to muthuTN:

Congrats MuthuTN. Today, I have filed my EB1-A I-140 through Premium processing in Nebraska. I'm kind of nervous and excited :)
I'm on H1B, but able to show nearly 6 criterias (atleast 4 strong ones). I need you opinion about Nebraska service center. I'm hearing from few guys that Nebraska issues more RFE denials compared to Texas service center.
