I also belong to Philly FO. PD Feb 6, 2017, in line for an interview since Mar 9, 2017. How long do we have to wait to receive the interview letter?

Average time 3 to 8 months before you get interview letter. You can also check tracker to have a better understanding and will show average time. Check the USCIS processing times as well. But some people got surprise and they got the letter under 2 months once they placed inline.

Three of my friends got their citizenship in fairly short time frame (less than 6 months in total). Let's hope for the best.

Philly is kind of fast. the whole process takes between 3-6 months. But some got stuck for more than a year though. There is Chinese I/O who is very nice to everyone.

It's great to know that the processing time at Philly is relatively faster. How many I/Os are working there on the same day?

That's already more than 3 months of waiting. Did you call or do any Info-Pass?

In a given day I guess may be 4-5 I/O. They have thier own office rooms (No windows). Very diversed team. One Chinese lady ( as I said earlier, she is very nice to the applicants), One Korean lady, and the rest mostly whites.

Many Chinese get through N400 fast, but also many Chinese get stucks for many months.

to CriminalHist:

More people sent out their applications after the election day. This should delay the average processing time to certain extent, right?

I actually live in Delaware and unfortunately there is no FO here. Otherwise, the processing time for my case would be relatively shorter.

Nope. You are still on fast track. But the question is how many people have interview schedualed before you. I am thinking you may get your interview letter on middle of April. Please do not think many people get their interview letter with in three months of PD and it might be even less than 50%.

Based on available - and very incomplete - data Philadelphia FO is currently scheduling September filers for interviews in May. It does not seem to matter when your case status has changed to "in line for interview" so long as it did in fact change, rather than got stuck in name check.
Also in the last 3 months of 2016 Philadelphia FO saw a slight increase in the number of applicantions, and a significant drop in the number of finished cases. There is no published data yet to tell if things have at all improved in 2017.

Thank you for your detailed information. Based on this, I would expect that I may receive "Interviewed scheduled" text message/email some time in July.

Yeah I called an L2 officer and they said my background check has not been completed.. my mom and brother got it done in 2 days.. so now I'm really worried!

to sunshin43:

If I were you, I wouldn't worry too much. Sometimes it takes longer time (several weeks to several months) for background check to be cleared for some applicants. It does not necessarily mean that the total N-400 processing time for these folks would be longer.

I personally don't believe that status not chaging to inline = stuck in name check. Yes this could be one reason but background check is only one component of preparing the application for adjudication. I was expecting my status to change on 4/14 (30 days before GC anniverssary) and it did not and still has not.The answer that L2 officer gave you is probably a canned reaponse that does not mean much. By the way, I noticed in a different thread that your mother and sibling are applying in a different district. Did you get your GC in the same district you are now or a different district?
